Back to stock height

(Charlesbusa @ Oct. 31 2006,22:44) +1 on the +1 inch on the rear.

About lowering the front, careful, that'll reduce ground clearance.  Scraping hard parts is no good.
With the stock front springs, yes you need to be careful on lowering the front
so you don't scrape your fairings or front fender. If you re valve and re spring
the front to where it should be for your weight...then you won't have a problem

(xzvs @ Oct. 28 2006,20:54) Also KOK was mentioning he wanted to lower the bike on the last ride -- I said kiss your handling goodbye. Glad he got some time to talk to you DD, and Lamb.
I havent really looked at the setup for the rear on the busa. Wonder if i could rig the guts out of an electric impact gun to a threaded rod to raise and lower -- kinda like air ride but still keep the spring rate and dampening.
I know they make adjustible links for the rear.....But I have never seen them to go from +1 to -2 .....usually it's stock to -3 or -4.....
Crap! Now you guys got me all confused

! Granted I'm not a twisty kinda guy so much. when I went with you guys it was the first time in several years. I'm more the day to day commuter who likes long rides, maybe out to Laughlin or Vegas. Even got me a new tree put on so I could lowwer it. just haven't done so yet as I need a shorter stand still. Hmmmmmm......

So Vinny are you able to touch the ground any more or did you have to put blocks on your feet?

get back in your box, Gunny.

(Lamb busa @ Oct. 31 2006,21:17) Hey Vinnie!  Do you notice any differences with your wrists after riding it around for a week?  Do you like the look better?  Have u tried it with the lil lady yet?
Wrists are fine although my daily commute is only 7 minutes.

Bike just wants to fall in the corners.... Fall as in Nicky Hayden...not as in Rossi.

How would raising the rear affect comfort. I am a big guy and new to sportbikes. My hands and wrists are killing me with the Busa compared to my cruiser that I sold for the busa. I was thinking about getting helibars, and lowering the rear. Raising it would be cool too, if it deosn't affect comfort too much. What do you guys think?

raising the rear pushed your body wt fwd...thus more wt on your wrists which hold your body up.

The Busa can be lowered in the rear and heli bars added which dramatically aids in comfort.

You will get used to it! Knees become much more important. SQUEEZE the tank.

Work on holding yourself up with your back below 80ish mph and with your stomach above 80ish mph.

The difference being the wind of course

You should always keep your weight off your wrists for better input control. Relaxed grip is the best!

EXACTLY!!!

It's real easy to upset the bike by improper handlebar inputs. Key to smoothnes is working on body positioning and gripping the bike with your legs. You should be able to barely touch the handlebars on the main straight and have a relaxed grip.

So anyone know a good source for higher load bearing springs because my baby sits low with my heavy asz on it.

Mine's +1 in the rear and we've had a little bit of a problem with my wife sliding forward...but not too bad. It's been a blessing of sorts as it makes me be smoother with braking inputs in the twisties...which is very helpful. Combine the +1 with a 42T rear, which "sucks" the rear wheel in, shortening the wheelbase a bit, and the Busa becomes a very capable twisty carver.

(BA BUSA @ Oct. 28 2006,19:30)
(Devil Dog @ Oct. 28 2006,18:56) Shortly after getting my bike, I lowered it 2" and put the BDE on.  Lamb Busa has been telling me to raise it back up and it will turn easier in the twisties.  I heard what he was saying but didn't listen much. .......So today I had some time and decided to try the stock settings again.  Went back up 2" to the stock height.  OMG......its so easy to turn.  I can't believe it made that much of a difference.  I'm gonna riding it for a few weeks and then go up another inch.  If you're a twistie guy...this is an awesome mod for your scoot.  It lightens up the steering soooooo much.  Try it.
