About a month ago i went ridin and didnt have insurance and i was ridin in busy traffic the guy that was in front of me slammed on the brakes and i got real squirelly tryin to stop until the bike finally just tipped over into the school bus next to me and the bus ran my arm over i got three broken bones in my arm and the bus nearly ran my head over but the helmet was round so it kinda pushed my head outta the way so i am glad i was wearin a helmet....so now i have a wrecked bike i need to fix i still owe money on the bike and the parts i need are a engine, and basically a new front end i am thinkin about fixin it but dont know in the end if that would be smart.....im lookin for some ideas on a solution to my problem.......thanks

OUch.. glad it didn't squash your melon... that probalby would have been pretty painful... how did it crack the case? sure just not one of the cover's? that's pretty common... or did the bus run the bike over too?

Sorry about the scooter, Glad your gonna be ok.

What year is the bike? whats the official estimate for repair?

My question....
When you have a lien on a vehicle, you are required to carry insurance.
Not necessarialy. When I bought my bike new it was financed through Suzuki on the Suzuki card. Basically they approve you for a loan, give it to you in the form of a credit card, and whatever you buy with the card you pay for. They dont care if you total the bike or not because you owe them money for the credit card not the bike. I have only carried liability the two years I have had my bike. The cheapest full coverage I found after buying it was over $3000/year. I cant pay that a year for insurance. Motorcycle companies do this so that people will be able to buy their bikes.

A cracked case from a tip-over and contact with a bus??? I'd like to see the documentation that the dealer service center has to quantify this.
Sorry I just can't understand how your cases would be cracked due to this scenario.
Even then... A qualified aluminum welder/machinist should be able to restore the case to serviceable condition.

Yeah, I didn't have to have full coverage on my bike, when I got it.  The lady said alot of people do that, and there are a bunch of them that are paying for bikes that were stolen in the first year.  Could you imagine paying off a 5 year lone, and NOT even have the bike anymore ??

anyone remember the story about the guy that bought an 07 Gixxer 1K, and when leaving the dealer he crashed into a wall, and totaled it ??

By the way, glad you're o.k. !!

Man, if you can't afford ins. you can't afford the bike. You should have liability ins. at least. Glad you around to post. Get your bike fixed and get some INSURANCE!
