Barber Motorsports Park 10-24 and 10-25 2009

if you aint a bit "skeered" then you are riding like a girl... What I just learned on my first track day is that sensory overload is always present the first few sessions.. Speed is not the issue.. getting used to the environment is.. by the end of my third session, I was working more on riding technique as the track layout was becoming more embedded in my memory..

my the end of my last session, I was using the throttle to use the full width of the track.. (now you start to feel like you are going faster)

Just go out and do it.. as far as the 750 goes? yea, I think that would be a good move if you decide to keep running.. Although very capable, the Busa is pretty heavy and hard on tires compared to the lighter bikes.. (not to mention new rider is going to be harder on tires I bet)

you are going to love it I bet :)

I had a girl wearing pink blow by me like I was parked on the Gap a few weeks ago

Looking forward to getting some schooling from LA Busa.

BW..... that uphill ride at turn 4 is a blast!
You cant see over it, its blind, your leaned over and rolling into the throttle and building speed! I always expect the bike to ramp the dam*ed thing but it never does!
In my opinion, the elevation changes at Barber add a unique element to the riding experience (kinda like blind turns do at Deals Gap).

Like they say..... I prefer track days because golf, tennis, bowling and baseball only require..... ONE BALL!

One difference. There's probably nothing in your lane coming at you

Funny you should mention that sir, I pulled out of my neighborhood and onto the main drag a couple of days ago (a four lane with two going north and two going south) and once I get up to speed, there is this old lady, in the north bound left lane, going south coming right at me.
She was in what she thought to be the right lane and running the speed limit.

I waved, made the universal 'turn around hand gesture', and I just swerved around her and watched her carry on.....

No, I really dont think something like that will happen at a track but people on the roadways just amaze me, its a miracle that there are any of us left in south Alabama!

Most folks on tracks know how to ride and the per capita dumba** ratios are FAR lower than on public roadways...

Bring your umbrellas!!!

Seriously, looking forward to this trip. May even get to see some of my relatives that live in Hazel Green AL. They are cruiser/Harley people, but fun non the less.

I'm hoping they venture out to the track one of the days.

A little bit of fear keeps your butt off the asphalt.

Hey guys I may ride down to met some of you in person but I don't think the 6in. stretch would do to well on the track:laugh:
