+100, Thanks Whitefire. Don't believe I've ever meet him just hate to hear about someone getting hurt. Hospital address? Can we sent cards?? Thanks again.

this is always bad news to hear-hope BV continues to improve his condition, good to know he has folks in the area that will check in on him. Keep us posted, and I'll keep praying!

Hard to reply to these posts.... All I'll say is that I'm here for you too James and hope you get through this soon and back on your feet.

Count me in on anything the Org is putting together for this young man.

God Bless ...

Sorry to hear this anytime a brother goes down.

My prayers go out to you, James! Heal up soon, man!

Hmm,, suddenly,,,, flapping your jaw takes on a whole new meaning.

Big thoughts and prayers sent. He is the first board member I ever went on a ride with. We met up last October when it was in the low 40's. Anybody feel free to pm me if he needs anything locally. I'm about 20 minutes from Harborview and I can make the time to stop by.
It's pretty common for Doc's to induce comas when they find or even suspect head injuries. It helps to reduce swelling. Even when you get a slight concusion your brain swells a bit. Your not suppose to try to read or even think too hard when your brain is hurt. He'll be ok. He's not going to like the bills though...WOW, it's gonna suck. Even with good insurance the uncovered portion of the med. bills will be big. Have we set up a fund for him yet? James is a very giving board member. James is a guy who, although he wouldn't want to accept it, deserves our generousity.
Does anybody know if the person who caused the accident had insurance?

We had just been talking through email. He had asked how the racing was going and we discussed how dangerous it was riding the streets and that I probably wouldn't ever do it again. He was starting to think about the idea of the track and I was doing my best to convince him to make the move.

But for the grace of god this could be me as I rode like a scalded monkey on the streets and can't imagine going back. For whatever stupid reason with my busy schedule James and I never went on a ride even though we both live in the same town. I will PM Mike, and if there is anything I can do locally let me know!

Here is the latest...it is a cut and paste from the other site.

Eric, one of the other riders involved just came back from visiting James in the hospital. Here is what he had to say;

Just got done visiting James, good news, not-as-good new report. First the bad, they some more broken bones, here are his injuries... Head swelling in front and side, badly broken left femur, broken right tibia (or fibia, can't remeber), broken cheekbone, broken left clavicle (collar bone), fractured eye socket, fractured sinus, slightly ruptured spleen, his right foot will be x-rayed soon... could be broken. Good news is that his brain swelling hasn't changed. Continued swelling is bad, not change is good, hopefully it means it's starting to heal. Now the tough part of all this is obviously his head injuries. He is moving all limbs which is good, he is feeling a little pain, but not much. He sometimes reaches for his breathing tube which is also good because he knows it's uncomfortable and can reach for it with his eyes closed. Things are still looking pretty positive overall. He is going to remain sedated until his swelling goes down, at that time he will also have surgery. I don't think his family has visited him yet, but his grandma and mother are both aware. His Grandma I believe is coming very soon, his mother will be coming, "pretty soon".

What i would like to get, if possible, are pictures of his dogs and any pictures of him just hanging out with friends or whatever. I brought him one picture from our ride when I was there. Also, the hospital is going to bring the dogs that work there to visit him sometime soon which I hope he likes. Oh yeah, anyone know if there's any music he likes? They won't play anything too loud or offensive obviously, but I'm not sure what he's into.

We're going to visit him again this afternoon and I'll let you all know if anything changes. But just remember, it's pretty much a waiting game right now. His brain needs to heal itself a little before the doctors can do their magic.

Looks like he has even more damage than previously thought. Although I dont see that both femurs are broken...that is definitely good. I'll keep sending the updates until Saturday, I head out of town for a few days then.

Whitefire will continue to keep everyone here up to date..

Keep the prayers coming folks...

Thank you so much for the update. I think I have a saved pic of his dogs. I will check. I do have some great "hanging out with friends" pics from our ride last month. I plan on printing and framing a couple to take to him when we go up.

Hi this is Eric, the other rider who went down in front of him. It's nice to see so many people care about him here too. I was going to post my update over here but I see MJN took the words right out of my mouth ;) so I will just add a link to these.

The pictures from our ride are at the bottom. I'm going to see James again this afternoon and I will absolutely post anything new that has happened. Take care everyone.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you didn't get hurt and that you were there with him.

Very cool Eric! Thanks for taking the time to hook up over here.

Between you and Whitefire, you'll be able to keep the Org up to date on James.

Just wish i wasn't going to be gone next week.

It's good to know that someone is taking care of the dogs. I have a pitbull named Lena and should would have loved the company. Keep the updates coming.
