Brocks Camshafts

no nice way to put it but that is a scum bag move on behalf of brocks racing if they are simply repacking stock cams, putting their label on it, and selling it as an aftermarket part.
From my research, and his explanation… You CAN use Gen-2 cams, but you MUST use Gen-3 cam timing, so they aren’t just repackaged.

Personally, I think he’s buying in Gen-2 cams, but setting them to Gen-3 timing to be able to sell them as compliant. A Gen-2 cam is the only one listed as approved, he himself says you can’t change Gen-3 timing.

My next question would be…. If I’m not building to XDA rules, do I even want Gen-3 timing on Gen-2 cams or can gains be found by dialing them in for the best results ?

if they are selling an oem cam that is using all oem components then they are repackaging a stock part but adding a painted brock’s logo on it. its a deceptive business practice. why are they saying “ our cam” when in reality it’s just a stock cam. the rules don’t say anything about timing changes. plus over charging for a stock cams when you can just buy stock cams for less directly from a dealer network.

who is going to be the first to confirm the hp numbers that isn’t sponsored by them

Be interesting to know where he gets those, or if he manufactures his own.

Friend of mine, makes his own, hard to see, but they seem to have the same markings, so I wonder of he supplies Brock.

my gripe over these cams is that brocks (imo) deceived people into thinking these were some special grind they came up with that was allowed by some race organization. in reality they are just stock gen 2 cams that anyone can pick up used or from an oem supplier. the cherry on top is they are still overcharging for them. feel bad for the people that bought them thinking they were something special.

Gullible. Excited when someone markets cheaper performance mods not realising they’re hand me down Gen 2 parts lol.

Absolutely.

The reason I’ve been questioning folk, reading every review, hunting feedback is IMO there was an indication that they were some sort of aftermarket, tuner, go-faster cam. Something designed for the Gen-3 to release its best possible potential.

Recommended ?

The cost difference is negligible compared to using In / Ex Gen-2 cams and my bike doesn’t need to be XDA race certified.

Any Pro’s or Cons ?
gen 2 specs are int 9.0mm (.354), exh 8.6mm (.388) the intake cam is more aggressive. however the factory timing marks are off for the exh side. you can put an adjustable cam sproket, use a degree wheel to get them lines up.
