Just wanted to do a final follow up on the rearsets.
For the record, they were ~$119 + ~$33 S&H off eBay.
I am going to keep them on the bike in spite of the small issues I'll describe below.
Probably the most important thing to know before you buy these is that you are going to have to cut off most of the exposed thread from your current rear master cylinder. You are also going to have to find some longer hose to link your reservoir to the master cylinder (I used 9.5mm EPDM hose). Finally, you are going to have to buy a banjo bolt brake switch (which is aparently not 10x1.25 pitch :confused2
.
Installation is fairly easy, just unbolt the OEM rearsets and bolt these in (they only use the front 2 mounting holes, screws are NOT supplied). On the gearshift side, I cut the head off a 30mm M6 stainless bolt and threaded it into the OEM balljoint in the front and screwed the other end into the supplied push rod. (I didn't see any reason to drill the OEM balljoint out even though both balljoints are supplied). On the brake side, once you cut the shaft shorter, then assembly is pretty obvious.
These rearsets have 3 positions front to rear and 2 positions up and down. In the front bottom position (which is closest to stock) they are still a good ways higher and further back than OEM. I'm 5'11" and it took a little getting used to but I'm used to them now.
Overall they achieved what I wanted which was to stop catching my boots in corners (damn those Shinkos stick!). Both levers are mounted on ball bearings and the levers themselves have a little play, but they still work fine.
There is a little rust forming inside the hex holes of the supplied bolts so I think I'll replace all the bolts with stainless like I have on the rest of the bike.
Overall, for the price I think they are worth it.
Hope this helps.
