Complete and utter noob.

I agree with speed addict, do not buy this bike with out having a qualified person to look at it first !!! Thats several thousand dollars of modifications on that bike and to sell it for that cheap kind of scary. Welcome to the org btw, and stick around for a while.

Get the busa, why start out with anything less when you can start out with the best, hell, you can kill yourself on a 250cc if ya dont respect it.

Im a noob too. My last bike was a 2007 Kawi ZZR-600 and i only been riding about four months. Im thinking of selling my ZZR-600 and picking up a 2008 hayabusa today. I been thinking about it for the last three months. I think todays the day, not a cloud in the sky, 75 degrees.
Im not gona pay over $12.000 OTD.

I would pass on a busa for a 1st sport bike let alone a 1st bike, get a shadow or a 81' yamaha 650 special or something along those lines learn to ride and respect it. Just my .02 from 20 years of riding experience and 6 bikes.

Well, I work with a few people who have known this guy for sometime, and i get the impression hes a stand up guy, and wouldn't knowingly sell it to me if it were crap. And his real asking price is 7, said hed sell it to me for 6 cause he wants a car real bad, and im a good friend of a friend of his. Hes real good friends with the local bike shop here, so ill have to take it somewhere else to get an unbiased opinion. Hes admitted to taking it to the track 3 times, and he let a friend ride it for him.

I may ask if he wants to switch rides for like a week. Its his DD so ill have to fork up my car, lol.

As far as gear goes ive got a helmet and plan on getting a good jacket and gloves before i start riding. Not so sure that ill wear any more than jeans though.

Oh yeah, and i dont have a garage so ill be getting lojack no matter what bike i wind up with.

Awesome feedback guys

Maybe start with something else to get your feet wet. This way, any mistakes you make won't be too costly. You will TRULY appreciate a 'Busa after coming off of another bike, versus having nothing to compare it to.

quick question what kinda car do you have cause i saw the vtec so if you think the hondas fast your gonna be in for a real surprise! not knocking on hondasccause im rockin some rice for the moment

A stock Busa as a first bike? Mmmm.... not a great a idea. A tricked out Busa as a first bike? Honestly, probably a bad idea. Think more along the lines of a 650 or 750. That's plenty of horsepower and fun as hell to ride!

Any pics of your mom?

With your size the busa might be a good fit, but ALOT of bike for ones first. To be honest, I wouldn't think of having a busa with no garage. Busas are some of the most stolen bikes on earth. I don't let mine out of my sight period.

He told you the front end doesn't really cum up more than an inch or two but that isn't so,especially if you put the stock swing arm back on! Respect the throttle and be safe or you'll flip it over and be wondering what the heck just happened.

Why start out with a 650 - 750 cc when you can use the mode selector and not have to upgrade from bike to bike. C mode is 750 cc B mode is 1000cc

Selecting modes is on the 08 busa, the one he's thinking about buying is an 03, you get one mode, warp speed

Well on a good note if you do buy it and crash it you can part it out on here

Be careful on it, you WILL drop it. I dropped mine in my drive way a week after I got it (stupid wind) so you might wanna check if the kick stand has been modded because stock it doesn't have a lot of lean on it.

I think smaller people tend to drop there bikes more. How many of you people think taller people have more of advantage than smaller people?
But i guess anyone can drop a bike, just being careful and taking your time is important.

Ill humor you.

.....No, why do you need to see pics of my mom?.....

And ive decided to ditch the stretch, and put the stock gears back on.
IF i get it.
Good move going back to stock.

Look, I'm not one to discourage anyone from getting a Busa, but it's quite a lot of bike for someone with no experience. If you're a big guy, it would fit you nicely. And you'd never need to upgrade to more horsepower. I'd just hate to see you get a Busa and have something bad happen your first few weeks on the road.

Whatever you decide, good luck, ride safe and wear your gear.
