Concealed carry on your bike

Since it is damn near impossible to get a cc permit, i open carry here. Anytime that I go on long trips it is on my hip, or if there is some real danger, the glock 22 is under my arm. and if i am carrying i pay special attention to the laws. last thing i need is an uneducated LEO pulling me over for speeding when i have a loaded gun on my hip.

Hmmm let's see, complaining about a delay in your parts getting here from Japan and then wondering if they are radioactive or not I would say ranks right up there at the top of the list when it comes to ignorance.

Your probably ignorant enough to think 911 will save you and your family when a thug treatens you as well! Just hollar '911' as loud as you can and see if the guy raping your wife stops or not!

I am sorry Blanca Busa, I did not know about your wife.

Ruger LCP .380... Just toss it in a pocket...jacket pocket or pants, it's that small, cost you about 300 bux. If you decide against that idea, I like small of the back, under your jacket or a really long shirt. Problem with small of the back is when riding our shirts can blow up in the wind and expose the gun (felony brandishing) if not wearing a jacket. Typically if you're gonna need to use it, you'll be off the bike pumpin gas, or someplace parked hangin out. I say this because I assume you aren't gonna road rage while riding, nor pull a drive by on a busa...so it doesn't necessarily need to be accessible while on the bike, but just mainly so you don't get robbed while pumpin gas and such. That's really my only concern. I figure we ride expensive machines that are easily sellable on the black market and highly desired but not easily afforded. Sooo, I figure carrying is cheaper than full coverage insurance, at least in my case!

Check out Fobus paddle holsters too. Very comfortable imo.

I'd rather be judged by 12...then carried by 6!:beerchug:

2nd pic is actually a Kel-Tec inside a fobus paddle, but same exact design as the ruger. Actually I'm pretty sure ruger bit iff of the design after the patent expired...but you get the idea.
3rd pic is a Sig P238...one of my favorites but a couple hundred more expensive and heavier. But, same idea as the other "mouse" guns or ccw guns.

Yes I carry my wife's Strawberry LCP when I ride for the simple fact it does go in my pocket.

I have the Fobus paddle holsters for my m&p 40c. Very comfortable. Also been looking ate the Crossbread Holsters.I have not carried on the bike yet. My only concern would be god for bid I go down what happens to the gun. I know they are drop tested to not fire. However wreaking on a bike is a whole different story.

I was carrying a Sig P226 in a snap closed leather belt holster when I was run completely over by a car from behind on I95 in 2000. And just recently I had the misfortune of being run into by the back of a car ( ) while wearing a holster of same make with a Sig P229 and neither time did gun leave holster or discharge. Takes alot of external forces to make a weapon go off but only very little internal as in your finger.

Man, if you guys feel the need to carry a gun when riding your busa, you either must be paranoid or get picked on a lot:whistle:

Wait until something around you happens and its your girl friend who has the gun pointed at her. Because the guy next to her mouthed off to another guy about something stupid. Words were exchanged and then the gun came out! I wasnt carrying that day, and would of been ready to react if things got worse. It sucks feeling helpless, when you see your loved one in harms way..... and you cant do nothing about it!

Have 2 rednecks run you down with a truck (for the fun of it!) and see how quickly the odds are turned against you when you are on the a bike. In my kindest words .... they left me alone after I made my stand! (No one got hurt.... But it equalized everything very quickly!)

I had a problem at a gas pump a little more then 6 months ago while riding out in BFE. A guy trying to bum money off me, wouldnt leave me alone. He kept getting close to me while filling up the 09 1k asking for money. After several minutes he very got nasty and then started to throw things toward my direction. I took a defensive position just in case things got uglier. The gas station clerk came out with a base ball bat and told him to leave. The clerk called the local police. Again another case where I was happy to have it on me and have the choice to defend myself better.

I have a bad knee (due to a very bad accident) and cant run from a situation if I have too, and need all the help I can get in cases like these!

So you have your opinion, but others here do too! Please respect them.

Good words, Tim. :beerchug:

Thanks man! Sorry I am taking this seriously.... but I have had a lot of dumb stuff happen in the last 2 years for me to carry every where I go now, as much as I can. Karen even got her conceal carry too for the reasons listed above. It scared the hell out of her really bad. We both take the choice to carry very serious. My room mate is a LEO and best friend, and we talk about tactics of when you should pull and not to pull all the time etc.

Keep it up , your making great first impressions and will surely make many friends here.

So its not so? Why did you bring it up then?

I guess i don't have as many negative thoughts running thru my head as you do, rape, guns, death:whistle:

This subject should be taken seriously. I hate that you've had to deal with those situations, but glad that you've taken steps to be better prepared in the future. Being armed is a big responsibility, but you clearly know that.

To answer the original question...

I'm always armed at work, but not at liberty to discuss the weapons.

Off duty, I typically carry a Glock 33. It's small enough to be concealable, but packs the punch of the 357 Sig cartridge. This weapon fits nicely and is readily accessible in the side pocket of my tank bag. It also excels at sheet metal and auto glass penetration.

I brought it up as an example.
You seem to be the typical liberal who walks around with blinders on listening to 'the sound of music' as if nothing could ever happen to you.
I live in Florida, I have a generator attached to the house in case of hurricanes.
Is it negative to be prepared?
I have wood and shutters to cover my house during same time.
Is it negative to be prepared?
I carry a gun because I am prepared for the worst but hoping for the best.
Witness or become the victim of a violent crime and your eyes may open about controlling your own destiny.

What could you possibly expect from a response like this?

I am the most positive person you might meet. In 1999 my 1911 saved my life in Sieara Blanca Tx when I had a blow out in the middle of nowhere. I saw two men in a pannel van point at me and swerve to the bar ditch they jumped out split up and start gesturing to each other and surrounded my truck . I could see one gesturing to the other in the reflection in my back glass. I put my back to the inside of my open door where the other one could not get me down from behind while I watched him gesture to the other one about the take down. The biggest one came around the back of my truck drumming on my toolboxes in an effort to to distract me as he peered around to see where my left hand was I drew down on him. He stopped dead in his tracks and waved the other guy off. I have no doubt they were going to kill me or at least leave me for dead in the middle of nowhere. You can feel evil when it in your presence. But I tell you I remained positive. I will live they might not.

acehole has already politely asked for everyone to abide by the rules by not calling each other names and respecting other's opinions...this would be the second and final reminder to listen to that request...if you don't have something nice to say or can't phrase your opinions without being disrepectful, don't post or your ability to do so will be taken away
