I had a 05 GSXR 750 just before my 08 Busa and yes there is a different but, the Busa moves me just as well as the 750 did. Really loved the 750 and very nimble, the Busa will do just fine considering it is a bigger bike. Also more comfortable for much longer. Try it , you will love it just don't expect the unplanned power wheelies like you get with the 750

I came from an '05 ZX-10R (it got stolen from me) to a Busa. It took me quite a while to get used to cornering on it. All of that got solved in one day on one trip to Pine Moutain, Ga. I was riding in a group of 6s and 10s. We were riding pretty hard. All of a sudden, we hit a left 90deg on a downward slope. I don't know how fast I was going, but I slammed it down two gears with a strong blip and hung hard off the left side. The guys behind me said I was so low it looked like I was sitting on the road (I had on jeans so I keep my knees on the tank). My heart was in my throat, but afterward I had no worries about anything.

This was totally by accident, but I developed a new confidence in the busa. I ride it just like the liter bikes. My only wish is that I could get up on one wheel like I used to do on my ZX-10R.

The standard busa is 60kg heavier than the gixxer. (260 vs 203 kg)

What I have noticed is that tires makes a big difference. I do not like the standard OEM tires - I recommend changing them asap. On my last trackday I used Metzeler K1. They stuck like glue.

The difference for me between the gixxer and busa was the amount of work I had to do through the corners. I work harder on the busa, but my track times remain roughly the same. I find I brake a little earlier on the busa, and power out a little later, but that is because I go faster on the straights, and it pushes to hard upright tending to run wide.

Anyway my point is: get better tires, and change your riding slightly because you have a heavier and more powerful bike. Other than that it corners fine.

Well said! :beerchug:

New tires. Get some with higher walls. I just got a new set with some pretty steep walls and now the bike sucks me into a corner. I use to have to whip hard to get down, now i start to lead the bike and it takes me the rest of the way and does all the work.

New tires...beautiful thing.

I met a guy at the gap this past Subday, on a B king, he also has a busa, and he said he put a 190 50 on the rear of both, and claims it made a big diff in the corners.

You can drag the engine case on the stock bridgestones, I don't know what else you could ask for from a street tire? :dunno:

Agred. How much further over can you go than that?
