Thought i heard this today. Don't watch the news as i'm never around a TV. When I am Jr's watching Boomerang. I thought I overheard someone say that we are now giving Illegal Aliens Social Security benefits ... I can't get them until I meet minimum contribution standards ( Which I did a LOOOOONG time ago) How can this be? Is Congress really THAT STUPID? Or did I mis-hear something???

Illegals have been trying, and mostly succeeding, by getting a post box in the US, then having the checks forwarded to their reall home in Mexico. This has been going on for a few years now.

Yes they're that Stupid. Just remember this is supported by BOTH Partys and it's to get VOTES and stay in POWER. Not to help anyone but themselves. The real problem will come in about 30 years when the illegals go back to Mexico and the working people here have to pay them there. The fact is that if you pay SS here the money goes back INTO our economy, if it's payed out of country it STAYS THERE. This is going to criple us in the future and destroy our economy. Think taxes are high now, WELL JUST WAIT ! Our Politicians have NO long term vision, they seem  to have on a short term (as in their term) vision. Looks like most (not all) look at their position as a: One for All and All for ME

Your reponse is why I ASKED. I do not know the answer and was honestly curious IF I heard the truth. I would NOT put it past the government to do something this stupid. I guess what I should do is e-mail my congressman and ask him. I figured I would get a faster more accurate response from the Board!

OH and YES I do believe the illegals could get it. There are cases I KNOW of where welfare mothers get together and trade kids on sign up day to get more money. there are cases of alchoholics getting social security benefits because they're drunks! More stupid stuff than you could imagine.

I dont have a problem with people retiring there. But say they pass away. Who would say stop sending the free money. That would not be so easy to regulate. It even happens here in the states, people taking advantage of the system.

Even though I consider the Washington times a Biased paper I will excerpt a statement for your entertainment.

The above factual statement is something that I have been aware of and have quoted many times before in this forum about this topic.

Also the following link illustrates the legislative process of the United States that states before a Bill is made law it must be passed by BOTH the Senate and The House of Representatives. Any chance this bill made it through the House or is it more bullshed misinformation.

Not enough details in that load of hot air spouted by another "Distinguished Gentleman from Texas". Just a bunch of speculation about a PROPOSED bill floating around the Nation's Capitol.
Sounds to me like another half baked scapegoat of an explanation for all of the hype about the failing Social Security system. We've all heard it haven't we, thats why we all invest in IRA's, Roth IRA's, SEP IRA's, Mutual Funds, 401k plans and a multitude of other cushions we've been taught to factor into our retirement plans.
Well maybe some folks haven't paid attention to the frequent occasions that our nation's Leaders have bled the SS fund in order to pay for other programs. This occuring while spending billions a day on big defense and foreign aid programs that helped that wack job in North Korea secretly build a nuclear and missile program under our fuggin noses while starving their people and heating their cities with US heating oil and coal.
Food for thought... And somebody said minorities are the problem? Hmmm I wonder.

Politics are politics and politicians simply take advantage of the trends. If you disagree with their agenda, voting can make a difference.
However, the force and momentum that they are predicting, correctly I might add, is something your single vote will do nothing to change.
So go get the minutemen to vote with you but that'll probably do little to stop it too. Now think big and go round up every hater you can find and tell them to put some shoes on, cut and wash their hair, sober up, and put on something other than a wife beater, because your gonna take them a'marchin for change on the policy on messicuns. It goes like this as I have stated before.
Employer "A" needs a cheap worker to do stuff good honest americans won't do. So, he puts an add out in Spanish that goes something like this. "Necesitamos ayuda en Restaurante Chili's"
Worker "A" sees said add or more likely hears through his peer network about help wanted. Worker "A" then acquires a random active social security number through an entrepenuer. (imagine guy in trenchcoat). This leads to acquiring false identification that is brutally, obviously fake since it is not issued by any government organization. Worker "A" goes to employer "A" and gets work with this fake ID that the employer knows is fake but doesn't care as long as he can fill the IRS form W2. This results in Social Security deductions being taken from the measely paycheck that is cashed at a the check cashing joint that takes a hefty cut of the earnings for just cashing the check. Then well guess what? Federal and State income tax withholdings are taken too. But worker "A" never files for it because he just doesn't want to leave a trail of evidence to leading to his residence.
