Eventually, I’ll be right...

July 21st, not sometime last January.

“We’re in the process of developing a strategy”

“It will probably unfortunately get worse before it gets better”

Well, we can all sleep better knowing that!

From a guy on the outside looking in....

With a large population as the US has....these two are all that you guys can come up with???

Your current leader would love to be a dictator and his current competition (and last competition) isn't/wasn't up to the task.

If I were a citizen of the US, I'd be very concerned about the future.

We have our governmental issues here in Canada but our impact on the global scene is insignificant compared to the US.

Not sure the owner of a innocent business 3,000 miles away would agree.
I'm sure said business owners had insurance.
I Think best outcome is he goes to prison for life just like any other person that commits murder.
You mean like Jeronimo Yanez? Darren Wilson? George Zimmerman?

No one believes Floyeds murder was anything but murder.
You don't need to look very far to find people who have offered several justifications for his death, from previous criminal history to drug use, so yeah, plenty of people believe it wasn't murder.

P.S. You realize that a business isn't a person, right? A man died, he's never coming back, he can't be rebuilt, he can't reopen after an insurance payout. He's dead. Comparison of business losses with loss of human life is demeaning.

What court?? No comment was made about any courts. Portland is less than 4% black. We really justifying business being destroyed. So 100% of the 4% have been oppressed by the police? What % do you consider systemic?
The term systemic refers to an overall system not a specific part. That the criminal justice system in the US contacts, incarcerates, and kills black men at higher rates than any other group is inarguable, and Portland is no exception. Obviously there are varying explanations as to why this is the case, and systemic racism is one of those explanations.

Typical low information reply. The economy was roaring before covid 19 that china caused.
You are mistaken and displaying a bit of low information yourself there bub, Lol! The virus originated in China and by most accounts they handled it very poorly. But the damage in this country is on Trump's failed response to a direct threat to the security of this country, He ignored it, failed to mobilize resources and experts and even confused the best practices information to the public (like wearing masks, which he is now walking back). Other countries were exposed to the virus just like the US and they are not in the mess we are in. BTW: Obama said in a speech we would have a pandemic and even predicted it would happen in 2019. It's on video, no denying it.

Replies like this are why I rarely respond to low information people who eat up what the media feeds them.

You can't have it both ways, the democrats were screaming orange man bad when Trump started shutting down traffic from china and other countries where the virus had "exploded". Now those very same people are saying that he didn't do enough.

The only mess we are in here in the United States is having to many people who bought into the virus hysteria (including myself early on). The risks from covid 19 are about the same as the seasonal flu. A good example of this was when we were one of the "hot spots" here,, the hospitals only had a couple covid patients and those patients were already very unhealthy people before they contracted covid. This is first hand knowledge from friends who are nurses and doctors who worked in these hospitals. None of the doctors or nurses I know ever displayed symptoms, although a couple have tested positive. I'm not worried in the least about catching covid 19, the numbers don't line up with the hysteria the media is selling.

For the most part it's always the same 3 libs on here that will never like Trump and push the CNN like narrative. I gave up replying to them about politics. Not worth my time. They want a brain dead puppet (HidenBiden) for President.

Also I love how people from other countries are always putting their 2 cents worth in based off whatever lamestream news they hear about.

That's what is called the categorical dismissal. In high school debate class it was a tactical maneuver used when you simply don't have any facts to respond with. It never won points and was the equivalent of throwing in the towel. You haven't responded to my points for awhile, so I assume you're caught between looking increasingly foolish trying to justify Trump and admitting you voted for the worse president in recent memory.

Yes its the same 3 libs here calling out the BS, but the Trump alliance is imploding around you my friend. So now you need to decide do I throw away the country for a man whose only allegiance is his pocket.

Hi Why do you think young people want socialism? I think it is because they think they can not make it in this tough times. What I see is mom and dad give them every thing. They do not have to work for anything. When I go to work I see mom drive there kids 40 feet to the bottom of there driveway so they do not have to stand outside. They make to easy for them.

I watch American news most of the time, probably the same news as most of your population, I consider myself pretty educated on what goes on in the US for the most part.

We in Canada share a huge border with the US (as you know), our culture is close to what is in the US, our media comes from the US (for the most part). I was fortunate to spend lots of time in the US and abroad working with your military.

That and I have many relatives who live all over the US helps make educated spending of my $0.02.

The problems in the US unfortunately don't just stay within the US, they spread world wide and are there for everyone to see.

Well the best outcome would have been for the cop not to choke a man in broad daylight in front of the world. But since that happened we have to make the best of it.
No answer to any question ok...

It ok to destroy a business some one built because I’m sure they have insurance... I’m not comparing a business to a life. Must of got that confused when you were justifying criminals. I have seen no one justify Floyd’s murder but if I went out of my way and googled it I’m sure I could find a keyboard warrior. What I have seen people point out he’s not a person that should be idolized. Do you want you kids to grow up and be like George?

I said murders not people defending them selfs.
Sounds like you think oppression is ok, if it's only 4% why worry about it.
That’s cute... I’m thought you could tell there was some sarcasm that 100% of the 4% were oppressed. Then I thought you prob do believe that.

I will attach this article . My wife asked me not to attach it to the Karma thread about George .
In case it was not known the knee to the neck was a trained , and approved method before this incident took place . Also would like to ask how many have seen the entire video where officers work to get George into the police suv . Once finally in is the point of interest as he has to be removed for unknown reasons . Body cam footage is not avaible .
This is where I would like for members to read the link attached .

That article wouldn’t have been half bad except for a few outrageous assumptions/mistakes. The article made the following statements:

“The false narrative of “systemic racism” now has its post-Ferguson icon.”

False narrative... The idea that systemic racism doesn’t exist is preposterous.

and,

”Rather than indicating illegal and excessive force, they (the photo/video) instead show an officer who rigidly followed the procedures deemed appropriate by the Minneapolis Police Department.”

Rigidly followed? Patently untrue.

Nowhere in this or any other officer’s training was the action, the prolonged action by Chauvin, sanctioned by the police department, or deemed appropriate. Nor is the misnamed choke hold. Ask them, ask the head of their academy, ask any of the training officers, any of the FTOs, and they’ll all say what Chauvin did was NOT part of or due to his training. And they’ll be right.

They removed him because he was hurting himself. cant recall if it was head into glass, or with arms. They wanted to protect him by cuffing him and putting him back in so he wouldnt be able to continue injuring himself. Yes, I did watch the whole vid too.
The irony.
And, yes, kneeling on a neck is trained by many LEO training. I have had this training myself actually about 15 years ago (federal btw). Also a tidbit that many are not aware of... when someone says that they cannot breathe, they are incorrect. If a person can make any sound (ie talking), he most def CAN breathe.
I am NOT insinuating that the cop was justified. I am just stating some facts. And for the record, I would like to see if he is guilty in a trial of his peers. Would be kinda shitty if it comes out that he was trained on this procedure and did everything by the book. I am tired of the general public watching an “edited” vid and screaming for vengeance without due process.

Where did you get this?

”They removed him because he was hurting himself. cant recall if it was head into glass, or with arms. They wanted to protect him by cuffing him and putting him back in so he wouldnt be able to continue injuring himself. Yes, I did watch the whole vid too.”

What ‘whole’ video? I saw the first one when he was walked over to the building and seated on the sidewalk and the one from the view point in front of the cop car, rear door open blocking the view inside and only showing some sort of scrap between the cops and Floyd. Then the video ends and the next video, he’s on the ground with Chauvin’s knee on his upper back. BTW, what academy were you taught to put your knee into a suspect’s neck?

Nowhere have I said that destroying a business is okay, or justify criminal activity, there's a whole lot of space between approving of activity and explaining it's consequences.
You absolutely did compare a business to a life, reread what you said about the owners of "innocent" businesses, whatever that means.
If you believe any of the names I mentioned were people who were acting in self defense you're either confused or ignorant of the facts in those cases. Yanez changed his testimony, from not seeing a gun to seeing one, and never said it was pointed at him, Wilson shot an unarmed man from a car, and Zimmerman shot a kid with a candy bar.
You asking about whether I want my kids to act like Floyd is the definition of an ad hominem logical fallacy. Who he was is utterly irrelevant.

So you're saying that Chauvin's actions were justified?
