Flashing the 08 / ECU Editing software for GEN II Busas

this device is intended to help you "tune" your bike. You can't tune a bike blindly without knowing what afr is on a dyno or logger. I am trying to help you from hurting something. you can de-restrict 6th gear, increase limiter, hard cut / soft cut etc, ignition shift kill, plenty of things that can be done, but the main focus is to tune fueling and ignition, which just can't be done by guessing.

Just wish i could find someone to dyno tune that is not half way across the country, need to get all of this on a lap top and take to one of the bike shops and let them see it. Most of them that have not seen it are scared. But the suzuki dealer in sarasotta does the power commanders so I dont know why it would be an diffrent. have already removed the ltop end , changed to hard cut . rpms at 11300 and turned off pair valve. so I will find some one I guess If i just keep looking. you would think in sw florida ther would be more tuners

Walter Sprout is in jacksonville and travels all over to tune bikes, he might just come to you. give him a shout. he is an excellent tuner.

already tried a couple times with no reply, so what I gather here is with the earler version of ecu edi you could change to like group 3 maps and now every one is saying this is a bad thing, I guess what I wanted to do is just some small changes ( like I am sure I am not the only street rider looking for that bottom end change) like a tre or pc or others would do with having to find a dyno all the time wish seems to be an issue down here for some reason.

pm me i will give you his number, he isn't the greatest on email. Even on Power commanders you can't guess fueling, must be done on a dyno if you want to make sure everything is good and not going to melt something. I am more than happy to talk a dyno operator through anything they need to get flashing going, just have them email or call me. Well funny thing about TRE on gen 2 bikes, the ignition tables in gears 1-5 are the same, 6th gear has more timing, so TRE's on gen 2 busas being advertised is a farse as far as more timing.

Also have you checked with SAL from ACE performance? I think he is in miami and he uses ecu editor i do believe.

emailed him a few times nothing yet might get his no and call him. friend of mine is going to give me a lap top. I will down load everthing and take it to one of them in sarasotta( if I cant get a hold of the other guys) maybe that will open there eyes to a better method of tuning.

2 hours, just an afternoon, in the name of motorcycling no biggie :) I spent 22 hours away from home on the trip going to RCC turbos when i first tuned my 08 turbo. and then second time went to see ryan at schnitz which is a 3 hour drive, a good tuner is well worth a few hour drive imo.

If it has not been tried and tested( meaning changing tps, maps fuel maps etc.) in ecu ed and you can do this with out a dyno then I would not touch it. on the older 2. version of ecu editor when you unified all gears did it change fuel, ign and tps maps just wondering maybe that is wher I am getting confused LOL

no it just set ignition maps to 6th gear, which the only real difference is light throttle light load. didn't change any fueling.

not that i want to try this but just learning. if the tps and ignition maps are chnged in second and third from say the 6th gear map could you also change the fuel to the 6th gear map in 2nd and third

ok makes sense, called walt, any body in sw florida looking to get there bike mapped working on some connections see wht we can do

Okay I was just thinking the other day. I've been considering doing a racing package from Carpenter racing Carpenter Race Engines I was thinking of doing the 1441cc package with a CNC head and radical cam. They can mail all the stuff to me and I can do the work myself and they are fairly inexpensive! They said they would even email me a tune for my bike for a power commander.

Who is going to be my hero and create a program that will convert power commander maps into ECU editor maps? I think that would be AWESOME.

Better yet...does anyone know of a good ECU editor tuner that isn't too far from the Reading, PA area? Reading is 1 hour north of Philadelphia.

John Gover from sh.org sportbikeryder is in PA, though i forget where and has helped a number of ECU folks with tuning. Power commander maps make no real sense in the ecu due to them only controlling 1 set of injectors, get a bazzaz map would be much closer, or better yet just tune the bike on the dyno for the utmost performance :)

This isn't all inclusive by any means, but points you to some others in the neighboring states.

Frank at powerhouse cycles is about 3 hours away in babylon NY, SAE performance in smithtown ny.

the tps fuel map is 1 map in ecueditor, you aren't looking at a different map for each gear.

Greg, I'm trying to get a handle on this.....if we change the STP in 2nd and 3rd to the same as the other gears the ecu does not change the fueling but we can't change the fueling by gear-so the motor will be lean in 2nd and 3rd unless we alter the tps map also but then we're too rich in the other gears? So we can only safely adjust the STP to lower values to reduce power but we will also be rich in the areas we adjusted.

he now has a fuel tuning deal in the stp maps, though best bet would be on a dyno to use it as no one has yet to my knowledge, i think that map is based on 100% in the unrestricted gears for stp, then 2nd and 3rd gear the numbers are lower, so in theory just make it match the other gears and fueling should be the same, should being the key word.
