For those of you who pray...

Nothing but good thoughts and prayers for her Bob...please tell her we're all pulling for her to get better soon...

Thank you all again for your continued support. It really helps.

To help pass the time in the hospital, I bought a laptop with WiFi for my daughter, Kristen. Luckily, the hospital has a wireless network and we were able to get on the internet from her room in the ICU. I logged on to hayabusa.org to show her the tremendous outpouring of support from all of you. She was amazed and sends her thanks as well.

I left her about an hour ago. The EVAC loaded her up and shot off toward Gainesville. Her mom is with her. I'd be with her too, but I have two more kids at home. I'll be going up on Friday. I know things are going to get better now.

Bob,
Hang in there. Your faith will see you through.
Ted

Have two daughters myself, yours is now included in my thoughts and prayers.  Keep a good thought!

Bob,
Will keep your family in my prayers. God Bless Your Daughter.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of Heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son,
our Lord.

He was conceived by the power of
the Holy Spirit
and was born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into Heaven,and
is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge
the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the Communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.

Our Father, who art in Heaven.
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with you
Blessed are you among women
And blessed is the fruit of your womb,
Jesus

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father,
Son and Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning,
Is now,
And forever shall be.
Amen.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping
in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy towards us.
And after this our exile, show unto us
the blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy
of the promises of Christ.

Amen.
I see that you're Catholic huh tedbiele?

That is actually my favorite prayer. I actually memorized that prayer when I was a little kid. It's kind of funny how a lot of people still have to read it from a missalette.

Ain't nothin' on this board but love, man. That has been shown over and over since I've been here... Tell Kristen that we're still praying and pulling for her. If she puts it in God's hands, it'll all be good.

Send her our thoughts and love, man. Take some for you and the rest of the family, too. We've got plenty.

Update:

I am quite impressed with the hospital and staff. You know those TV shows where they depict the hospital as a bustling bee-hive of activity? Well, I think that they must have filmed them at Shands. Something to behold.

Kristen's numbers are up! Platelets are almost 20,000 better than yesterday! She's at 60,000. When she reaches 200,000 they'll let her go. Still a long row to hoe, but we're making progress.

Thanks everyone. Keep the positive energy flowing!

good to hear! my family sends our wishes and prayers for a continued, and speedy recovery. Stay strong.

More improvement today. Platelets are now at 90,000! Boy, taking her to this hospital in Gainesville was the right move. If she keeps progressing like this she could be out in a week or so.

Thanks for the prayers!

Well, we suffered a little setback today. Platelets are down to 82,000 from 90,000. I think stress has a lot to do with it. She was downgraded to another floor, not quite as nice, annoying roommate. With the daily treatments (plasma exchange), she's feeling pretty good, but bored.

You would think that a top university hospital would have wireless connectivity for her laptop, but NNNNNOOOOOOO. No connection. Bummer. Even our local country hospital had WiFi. Go figure.

I think her recovery has so much to do with her attitude, so pray for strength folks. That's what she needs.

Thanks everyone!

More prayers sent up..

Yes, stress, attitude it all plays a roll.

Also diet.. have they changed her diet at all? Has she by any chance been getting less fluids in the last few days?

water helps flush out toxins out of our system, which helps our system recover quicker.

Just a thought..

Yeah - its powerful.
Its the good stuff!!

Catholic school was good to me! Except clapping out those erasers after school!! Can still hear Sister Mary Josette yelling at me! Trying hard not to swear!

PS - Kristen we are sending big love your way! Bob - we are with you!

Hey Bob -

Prayers sent up this morning for Kristen again.

Hang tough Kristen, you have lots of people you dont even know pulling and praying for you....

Keep a positive attitude!! it is amazing how much attitude has to do with the body's ability to heal itself.

Ron

Hey Bob, we can start making our replies to Kristen and you can print them for her to read since she can't get internet there. My family was floored by what I showed them from this forum when we lost my niece. Just a thought. With that in mind...

Kristen,

We are all praying for you and wishing you a swift and full recovery. Be strong and put your health in God's hands. He will pull you through. Stay strong and positive and soon all of this will be a page in your past. If you need anything all you have to do is pass it on to Dad and have him let us know. If it's within our power, you can consider it done.

I'm sending up yet another prayer as I'm typing this. Godspeed!

Chris

BT,

Good idea. I'll print out the thread here as well as a couple of other bike related forums I've posted on. It's still amazing to see the outpouring of support from the most unlikely sources. It's comforting to know that there are so many caring folks among our ranks.

Today, more progress! Platelets are up to 102,000! Kudos to the power of prayer and positive thinking! Kristen's doing pretty well. The Pediatric ward has her painting a ceiling tile with her own special design for the kids' floor. She's enjoying it. Mom's with her today and tomorrow. I'll be back up on Wednesday.

Thanks again everyone!
