for those that have gone to maxton

I had 3 different tech inspectors-bring extra safety wire and they like stick on numbers and letters that peel right off-make sure you read the book---

I used duct tape to make a window on my speedo to make sure I was in the range, and I watched for the needle. Helped me run 178mph on a 94' GSXR1100 with a piston kit and carbs. 160whp in Ohio, but was lean at Maxton.. ran it till she burned up. Interesting to see how you can lay your head sideways under the screen and move your elbow or ankle in and pick up a few more rpm on the tach.

That bike was like throwing a brick in the wind.

everything about maxton is great except waiting between runs - i wish they could do bikes one weekend and cars the next---

im leaving in the am, the weather forcast does not look so good, after a 10 hour drive i hope it stays dry, and maybe it will cut down on attendence

Well so far we've never been completely rained out. We have had rain delays. When it clears we run cars up & down the track to help dry it quicker. The pit folks dig getting to run the track to help dry it!

Yes some people are bailing due to rain but we have a record number of pre-entries so I don't know if it will be enough! LOL

I'm hoping for Sat morning rain so I can finish my bike prep! Somehow we always have a good time when it rains. Go visit your favorite hero and spend some quality rain-trailer time. I remember our last rain delay when Ellen Guthrie thoroughly schooled us on GPS technology and why it won't always match the trap speed. (put the boys to shame with her knowledge!) Somehow we always find something technical and stimulating to discuss! Don't always get that chance when its dry!
it's racing, we'll be at the track, it's all good!

Didn't see you. Busy in the Reg trailer & then my own. We're pitted at the end of the MC tech line.
Black trailer. Same angle as the reg. trailer only one block closer to shut down. Stop by & say hi.
We'll be in the trailer in the AM doing some last minute tweaking. (I should be sleeping)

I was going to head over with Rock to check you all out, but the weather just doesn't look that good. maybe next time...

deb it was clear in maxton? it rained all day in fayetteville. couldn't even pull the bike out of the garage

Nope! Rained all day! Sent the rescue crew home early & called it a day with no racing.
Got everything buttoned up on the bike except it seems we left my HD clutch springs at home! DOH!
I hope I make enough power to need them but then if I do I'm screwed! LOL Might have to walk the pits & beg a set if we
have the need & the time. We only planned to put 3 in to be safe. We can shim them too. We'll see what happens.
Looks like we should be able to run 8am - 4pm tomorrow if the rain is done & we get the track dried early enough.
I'd like a couple passes if possible so we'll see how it plays out. Hopefully the rain scared enough people away! LOL

well a 177mph pass and a blown head gasket, oopps

sorry deb I was thrashing and never made it over to see you, next time when i come back to break 200.

Heres aliitle video I put together notice I pretty much stopped accelerating at about half track,

Really sorry I didn't catch you either! I was hold up in the trailer all day Saturday working on the bike and of course in line all day Sunday! Really awesome video!!! Really shows the patches on the track and some of the bumpies! LOL

So.... what did you think? How did you like it?

Sorry bout the head gasket! Any idea what went wrong?

I was really excited for you cause I thought you ran a 196 but now that I look again at the run log that was only 40 minutes after your first run, so I'm guessing that was a typo in the system and not actually you?
