hayabusa for first bike

well if you take out the showing off part......you have no problem. Im quite aware what "showing off to myself and friends" will cause me.

I got the Busa as my first ever bike cause I like the look of it, just real aggressive.. Poor baby hasnt even hit 8k rpm in the two years Ive had her.. I keep telling myself I shoulda got a 600 so I could push it a little harder a little faster but on the other hand it's a lot easier stay with the group I ride with..

God knows I dont have extra money to throw away and I got screwed with the financing but young and dumb only happens once so I screwed myself financially for the memories I made thus far.. Ive been cut off NUMEROUS times by inconsiderate drivers and a few of those times with a passenger but am still here to tell about it

This is your decision, YOU SHOULD NOT BE ASKING EVERYONE'S ADVICE. YOU WANNA ROLL THE DICE GO AHEAD No telling what will happen tomorrow.. If you're still posting here in a couple years, good choice, if the Busa gets the best of you, bad choice.. It is all up to you.

buy a suzuki sv 650 (or equevelant) ,buy all the appropriate riding gear, take a certified motorcycle training course, ride sv 650 and gain valuable experience riding the bike in traffic, backroads, & learn the in's & outs of operating and owning a motorcycle. then after some time "and miles" under your belt you can sell the sv and get that busa or litre bike you so desire. The approach you are thinking about taking is not a wise one my friend and your setting yourself up for heartache.

You need to ride some before going out and getting a new anything...
so at least you can make an educated choice... you may buy that new busa or 1k and decide it's not right for you.

I had an 07 repsol and the front end seems too light to me. and hella easy to mess up on.
I got an 05 r1 and it was too slugish. I mostly ride my busa, but must admit I miss my kaw636 light fun and quick

If you are going to have to finance one best to be sure what you get is for YOU

but on the other hand it's a lot easier stay with the group I ride with..
I used to ride with a group of idiots... 120mph all the way to hooters bike night never droped below 115....

did this every wed for a month or so... one night I had to work and couldnt go. they ended up running from the HP and one guy turned down a dead end road and hit a tree. tore the front off the bike and lucky soab got off with a broke foot.

They still ride 120 to hooters.... I still go but with other riders

peer presure from buddies to "keep up" is not worth it

What is the big deal about getting a huge bike. They are all fast. Smaller ones are light fly through the corners. I got the Busa for comfort. I am a big guy, I would love to have a 750 (had one felt like I was bumping my knees on the bars).

You have made up your mind much like I had when I first asked about moving up so go ahead and get it. I am pretty sure Jeff Gordon drove a NASCAR before he ever tried driving on the streets.

Good luck with it. Hope to see you on here for years to come.

Go cart and Sprint car, not a stock car

Showing off is not the only area to be concerned. As it was stated many times your reaction to bad "cager" driving is just as important.

Case in point.

I started on a GSXR 600. Had been riding for 2 months when a guy made a left through a red and put me in the gravel. I reacted but just didn't have the right reflexes and skills to recover. Ate some gravel and he drove off...

Hi I just got my drivers license and I want a new car... I decided that the 750hp Corvette is the car for me cause my checkbook is as big as my ego...

Not to worry, I will respect the power of the car while I am showing off to myself and friends. I will also always wear my seatbelt, that should take care of me huh?

Nevermind I have a new wife and kids, they will LOVE the car too.. (ask my ego)  I just think that I deserve the biggest and fastest car I can afford (well I cant afford it exactly, my folks are helping here)

Does everyone here think I should get the Red one or the Yellow one?   I respect your judgment on this choice...

sounds fricken ridiculous doesn't it?
Even better

Hi, I just got my pilot's license. I decided that I should skip the single engine prop driven cessna and skip right over to an F-18 Hornet. I should be fine right??

Evolution of Species.

He must have something that shouldn't get passed on to descendents

Buy the busa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just makes my stomach turn is all.... I know for fact that there are others have been "on scene" for fatal bike wrecks...

I wish I had not been there myself, the sights, smell and sounds are forever..

it never leaves you and it makes you mean and nasty when you see where it starts and ends.. (others may view you as opinionated or even rude about it)

BUT you can not fix the world and maybe you can not save someone from their own impetuous, but at least I will go to sleep knowing I wasted 10 minutes of my time trying to save some guys family a lifetime of mourning...

(and til you have been there, there is no explaining the above)

I think I need to quit opening "down rider" threads as well...

You're trying to do the right thing.....but as you've seen we get this question once a week. Its always going to be the same, don't burn yourself out on it. You can only do what you can do.....the rest is up to fate

Not everybodies meant to make old age......thats life

He's right Bogus. Some people can't be told. But I would like to give you props. My little brother was going to start on a liter bike and I made him read your post, it hit home and he is actually rider a 600 to work his way up. So even if some people don't hear you or care to listen. You and everyone else who puts out the good advice does make a difference, you just can't save em all.

Hi ! My name is Drew ! My friend Cruz Pedregon is going to let me make a pass with his 6000hp funny car. Ive never driven down a 1/4 mile before. Do you think I should do it ??
