Always in private my brother. I've scoped out an even better location that's completely desolate, better surface, and has a 4' fence on both sides. Need to make that trip one day and see if I can make 180 MPH. Never claimed sainthood bruder

You can get a police radar reading and that will be cool.
and post the picture of that radar here.

Please don`t get offended by my previous post, I`m not the police hater, I used to be one until motorcycle cop stopped me and didn`t give me well deserved ticket, just asked to slow down. I never speed in his jurisdiction again.

(Rayabusa0818 @ Jun. 14 2007,13:17) Ask YH2K (or Blonde on a Busa) what his new term "Donned" means? biggrin.gif
This is YH2K using an alias..... but this piece of vernacular clearly deserves its own thread and definition.

Define.... "Don'd"
Used in a sentence; today MC Mustang "Don'd" me"
....

To "Don" a fellow rider is to:
Drop back in a pack of riders and to accelerate (vigorously) to a  velocity so fierce, that when you blow by them, the shock wave and air pressure causes the other riders to become scared or otherwise reactive. In some cases causing instability and near chaos with the other riders and certainly the rider's hapless rear pillion passenger.

It is very important to our Hayabusa.org brethren to understand the concept and ramifications of 'The Don' and all should heed this new process as I have not only come to define it here today, I (and my wonderful wife) have fallen previous victim to it and appreciate all that it means.

I have not practiced 'The Don' yet.

But I plan to master and administer it in the future and I hope that all of you will do the same.

Now get out there and go 'Don' your buddies, your friends and your enemies.

We owe this icon of motorcycling that honor....

I think it must be about 180 actual, speedo was about maxed and I was a little busy watching the road, I love this machine.  I have only done that once.  But I have a feeling that I may do it again.  wow.gif

I went a little faster than in my last post
on this topic. I got up yo about 163 and
let off. Still working my way up.

180 mph, then popped a wheelie and climed to 35,000 feet then backed off the thrust levers and cruised with a 120kt tail wind for a ground speed of 530 mph in my crj-200 , and was getting paid for it! and they want me to keep doing the same thing every day i go to work super.gif

I had an 02 that I took right to the rev limiter. but would not do that to my 05 LE she is babied most of the time

Sweet, I will note that in my ride journal, I have now moved to WA. and I wont find any quiet deserted roads at 0330 like in alaska here that is for sure. geuss it will have to be track time to satisfy my craving from now on.

I have bounced the tach off the redline in 5th gear. I didn't look down to see what the speed was though. All I know is that it was fast and the bike gets there quick. Once I realized I was on the limiter I shited up and coasted back to a more sane speed.

I have never been to the top speed of any bike ever. I dont even try. The fastest ive been on a bike was 183 indicated on a 02 zx9r> i back off the busa at 165.

Over on Ukbusas.org under each members avatar is their confirmed top speeds. Not done on the public roads but on RAF airfields 4 miles of straight runway with timing gear.
