Another interesting thing is people may think this means they can go to events like a riot and be a badass and shoot people. Ordinarily, Kyle's life would be ruined financially by all of this. The cost of his defense is probably more than 4 years at a really good university. If he had an appointed representation he would probably be in jail for life. Many employers would look negatively on hiring someone like this, they are concerned about the safety of their staff and someone who has killed 2 people in the streets would not be the first choice hire. Kyle is going to be a lightning rod for all kinds of trouble after this.

I hear Kyle has a fund with over a million $$ in it so he is probably going to benefit financially from this episode. Obviously, he'll hit the right-wing circuit. All we have to look out for is the wave of Kopy-Kyle killers.

Funny but you are not seeing the real picture. I have many relatives in Chicago, 3 of them are police. I have worked in Baltimore, 4 projects and I have relatives there too. What's happening in Chicago is a gang war that has actually raged for more than a decade. Many of these people have no place to go, so the gangs are the only people who accept them. The reason these areas are what they are is that this country has long stopped putting money into the issue. I also lived in Detroit for 3 years. Funny, now that whites are gentrifying the City magically there is money to improve things.

There are a lot of efforts to help and they are almost totally liberal and church supported. How much money have you given to food and literacy programs in either city? They are out there and several I found are deductible. You'll feel much better than sitting around hating and making up childish nicknames for people you don't even know.

You don’t think I don’t have friends family and buddies I ride with who live in and around areas like this? It’s not just gangs... that’s what mainstream media will have you believe. Not every shooting is gang related! It comes down to the fundamental principle of VIOLENCE BEGETS VIOLENCE! The gangs have guns but also people who aren’t in the gangs have guns as a result as well. In this environment, there is literally no deterrence - and the community sinks into a hell hole. My wife's cousin was shot dead at a high school party in Chicago. They had the party at home and were careful who they invited. They even hired off-duty cops as security. So gang people tried to crash the party and were not let in. Then came back and shot people leaving the house.

It's a proven sociological fact that the majority of the people would rather live in a civilized environment. But when it gets to where crime actually pays, the wolves will rule. The problem is the draconian methods that are needed to stop this once it starts are huge and require a brutal and indiscriminating police force. That sort of force is difficult to deploy fairly or judiciously.

Fixing our Urban areas will require massive dollars. The problem is the right-wings in congress have locked up any progress (until BBB).

I think people just want to protest? I don't get the point with the Rittenhouse verdict. It's a white guy shooting white guys. I think the court pushed the prosecutor away from who Kyle really is, but otherwise, it was a pretty straight-up trial. While the verdict sends an unfortunate message to gun-owning kids, the problem is the law, not the trial. Assuming obviously you see the law as a problem.
