I have questions, maybe you have answers. George Floyd & Karma

People want to "hand cuff" police and neuter them so they lose their effectiveness....people in the 'States will begin to really appreciate their 2nd amendment rights. Currently the police are barely holding the tide of criminals back, take more of them off the streets or don't fund the equipment they need and the bad guys will prosper more than they are now I reckon...

The PC club are looking for the same thing here in Canada yet we have no 2nd amendment and our government stripped us of most guns to protect ourselves, property and family...the bad guys will be able to come kick down our doors during supper and take what they want with impunity...

Yay....good times..good times....

All these wieners who want this sort of "hand cuffing" need to go spend time in places like Somalia where a human life equals absolutely zero.

The police need to get organised and all walk off the job at the same time in both countries.

Let the anarchists and PC people wreak their havoc and then people might appreciate living in an environment of relative safety due to the efforts of proper policing....

I wonder what the statistics are for deaths verses arrests?? I personally think one is too many regardless of color.

There are thousands of arrests each and every day but not thousands of deaths...some of these arrests are with very violent people cranked up on some sort of drug and extremely combative, police have to use an escalation of force to get these violent people into custody.

Unfortunately that's how change works. People are focused on only the bad things police do and they aren't thinking about the critical balance that a civilized society is. So we go from one extreme (police state) to the other (the wild west) rather than stopping somewhere in the middle. I argue this in our firm all the time. The sustainable solution to most problems is in the middle, not the left or right extremes.

One of the issues as I see it, each and every police department in the US has different oversights and policies.

There almost needs to be a national procedure put in place to regulate policing. This would also be true here in the "Great White North" although many of our municipal police forces have been gobbled up by provincial ones and many others are policed by the RCMP (a national police force).

Our issue here is our vastness and lack of oversight. Easy for police to get comfortable in their own skin and do things under the over watch's view.

I think the problem isn't deaths per so many arrests it's that justice is metered differently for different races. I think if the deaths were random, it would still be an issue but you wouldn't have millions marching in the streets. Fairness is a part of that civilized balance that is sustainable.

I have a concealed carry permit but I don't carry because it turns a routine traffic stop (for no reason) into a life or death situation. So the cops have effectively taken my 2nd Amendment rights away. That's a problem in a free country.

...and that sucks right there...I go back to my other post where a strong oversight and set policies need to come into play..everyone needs to be treated fairly and equal.

Barring that, we take away all the guns from everyone including the police and go to the "UK Bobby" system in our countries. But I guess even they have an armed section nowadays...

I'm not sure why you can't carry. When I get stopped I put my hands on the wheel and the first thing I say is that I have a carry permit and a weapon. I don't reach for anything until I get his or her response.

We are all friends here, at least I would like to think so. These kind of discussions always create tension and separation as we all have different thoughts and opinions. Now... a lot of my friends are police officers and I listen to some of their stories. The scum they have to deal with and the mental stress they have to endure is more than I can sit through that's for sure. The amount of idiots who try to get pulled over on purpose just to record a police officer and try to catch him slipping on one thing in the book is becoming the norm. I understand that it is necessary to keep police officers grounded but many are not doing it in the right way. I considered becoming a police officer many MANY years ago but in this day and age it is definitely not an option I would consider.

I'm not racist in anyway. I was born in Europe, my gf is latina/italian, my best friend is from India etc. I see people for who they are. I'm tired of the racial card always being brought up in every single incident. I was pulled over by an African American police officer many years ago for going "at least 100 +" when I was pulling out of a parking lot and still in 1st gear. He mistook me for another car that was in the area. I was taken out of the vehicle, stood there legs apart hands on my trunk being yelled at that I was going to jail, car impounded etc. Not for one second at that time did it cross my mind that he was doing this because I was white. I figured he was doing this because he was not educated enough to realize that it could not have been my car that created the ruckus. I went home with 5 tickets and "was lucky to keep my car." This was not a racial thing. Why is everything that occurs becomes a racial thing. If George Floyd was white would there be just as much media coverage? Would we have the same riots?

These riots turn to looting... They block our roads and create havoc. This isn't friendly or the right way to go about it. A lot of uneducated join because they feel they fit in with the crowd. Most in the crowd probably don't even have the capacity to think for themselves and just go with what they hear from the mouth of others. There is a LOT more to events that occur in this world. Coverups, agendas, etc.

The old man in the video should have never approached the police officer. Do I feel bad he got hurt, sure. Do I think he was out of line, absolutely. What did he think he was going to do. Police officers deal with criminals all day long. Every traffic stop or altercation could be their last. He should have known to STAY the F back.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Dude you're white, that's the point. I actually do that already even before I got a CC permit. I show it now weapon or not. If they have a database of ccw holders and I don't show it they could draw on me. At minimum its going to get me a step out of the car. I try to do as much as I can to keep my interactions with cops on the street as breif as possible. Never know which cop you are going to run into.

HI. In Ma. they know when they stop you that you have a ccw. They do not know if you have it on you or not. So the risk for you is the same. I put my hands out the window so they can see both of them. I all ways have mine with me. You are not in control of your weapon if it is not with you. Unless you have a hidden gun safe built in a cement wall. The small gun safes that you keep in a draw is useless. The only way to get my 2 S&Ws is to kill me.

I think you are a bit more qualified than me to walk around with a weapon! Lol.

The joys of having a 2nd amendment right and being immersed in a gun culture country I guess...

One can't really blame a police officer for being overly cautious when any weapon is involved regardless of who is carrying it. Many cops don't go home from simple traffic stops and this will play on their minds I'm sure.

I think it would be very very remote that you would run into a cop that would give you a hard time if you were nice and following instructions but what do I know since as you said I'm white. Back when I looked like the picture below and drove older cars I used to get stopped more. Also when I walked by some cars with someone in them I could hear the doors lock.

I wonder if we would be in the throws of all this vigorous "protesting" if the scenario was different.
What if it was Asian cop on white offender.
Black cop on Latino offender.
White cop on Asian offender. Would there be marching in the streets with signs reading ALM Asian Lives Matter.
Don't all lives matter? Your honest answer...Y/N If there was a dead Asian,Latino,White would all this be happening?

The "old man" in the video...the crowd is asked to dispurse. The big warning sign is that large group of heavily armed, dressed for combat men walking towards you.Your choices: The smart thing...walk away,go home, protest again another day. Or...the other option.

I know...I know..."Its my right." But its actually NOT. We elect governments. They put police in authourity. That has to be implemented. The free thinking voter by way of a democratic society has chosen these ways. That is fact.Whats the point in chosing this way only to spit on it as you see fit. Don't like the system thats in place as chosen by your fellow countrymen....move.

This thread has done remarkable well if you ask me...in some of the past era's of the Org there would have been threats of violence from one member to another by now.

It is after all just the internet.I skip right over the words of members I dont like...as I'm sure many skip right over mine.

It's all good,take a bow...

Rubb.

Lol I had the same look. I remember though, in the 70's in Los Angeles, we would joke that whoever had Dwayne in his car better behave, because Dwayne is black. It's never been a level playing field, and that's what Colin Kaepernick for example, has tried to bring to everyone's attention.

I have a cousin who got his CCW with me. He was pulled from his 500 series MB on his way to work in a $400 suit and made to lay face down in the road while they searched his record cuffed. He's a defense lawyer though so they are going to regret that.
...and so they should..innocent until proven guilty is still a thing right??
