I have questions, maybe you have answers. George Floyd & Karma

I watched a bit of the memorial for Mr Floyd, you'd have thought he won the Nobel Peace Prize for curing cancer the way the people were acting...

I've seen much less flamboyant memorials for soldiers fallen in battle than this one...

Incredible is the word to be used.
Yeah, I'm tired of him being all but canonized. Perhaps he wasn't a decent person, certainly wasn't a great one, and all those who pretend otherwise (except his immediate family, I'd expect that) are making things more difficult

Karma is a pleasant thought for some.......I suppose.

This speaks more to the truth of life.........."the rain falls on the just and the unjust"

I don’t buy karma. It’s a faith based ideology and with all faith based beliefs there is no proof whatsoever that it’s valid.

It’s been said here and o believe that the Floyd murder is being used to force anti Trump propaganda. The year of election is here and Trump is going against they people at the top of the tree, the ones you do don’t see or hear about.Rocks and Roths anyone?
Like it’s been said, last week you shouldn’t leave your house incase the deadly virus wreaks havoc on our lives. But it’s ok now to protest.....not even peacefully if you’re on the BLM side......why?Because that death happened at a time Trump is President.’So he must be the problem’ and they’re hammering that home every hour of every day.

Thousands in the streets protesting and rioting, plus thousands at Floyd's funeral is cool but voting in person is dangerous...wow. I think this unrest will only help trump. Most people want law and order.

I hope so.Ive always been sceptical of US presidents past as being a face on tv carrying out the ‘main man’s’ wishes whom we never see.And that may be the case here but as I’ve said Trump is making bold moves(read GOOD moves) going up against WHO and Fauci, having Robert Kennedy close by so If ever a US President was a good guy I believe it’s him.
Again I don’t have a horse in the race,I’m Irish.

Living in Ireland or an ex-pat in the US?

If you are living in Ireland, the scenery must be beautiful this time of year and really nice for riding.
I’ve never even been to the US but wouldn’t mind that trip to Nevada one of ye we’re speaking of doing a few days back(can’t remember who posted it).
Some of the scenery is beautiful if the weather is nice and it’s been really nice during this house arrest time.....I mean lockdown ahem!!

I'm not sure what you meant about Robert Kennedy since he was not a president. He was assassinated while running for president. Did you mean Jr or John F Kennedy?

Explain or rationalize this behavior, real tough guys smh….

Never know, maybe he was on drugs. Maybe he'd committed a felony a few years ago. All he had to do was comply with their orders. If he hadn't committed a crime that cop wouldn't have pushed him and he wouldn't have tripped. The bleeding was caused by the underlying health condition of being old and having thinner skin. Maybe those cops had pushed old people a bunch of times and this hadn't happened.

It is very evident to me there is a deep racial divide within the US which time has yet to heal completely, over time the racial divide is lessening more and more but it has been a fight each and every step of the way.

I find it interesting persons of color were kidnapped in their own countries, brought to the US in chains and forced into slave labor. A very costly war was fought which freed the persons of color from slavery but never set them free 100%. They've been fighting ever since to be free and equal and in very small cases they have succeeded but there is always that underlying sense of inequality remaining...of course this is nothing new to anyone.

Kind of like women, they fought for the right to vote, work and be equal but aren't as their salaries are less when in the same job position as a male, the "old boy's club" is alive and well.

What is the answer?? Waaaaay above my pay grade, all I know what is going on in the US right now has been done before with no positive result so far.

Not only did the US have slave but so did other countries including Canada.

Unfortunate - All I can say about this is the cops are on edge and after 114 injured and some killed they are on edge and when someone gets up in their face with hand reaching out they pushed him. These are people and have different temperaments. They have been suspended and will probably face charges.

Slavery was abolished before Canada became a country (around 1833 and we became a country 1867) so any slavery was under British rule not Canadian.
What is the racial makeup there? Are there no problems between races? I know London is also having protests. Also some in Canada.

"That other guy did it too" is your response? Since when has that been an acceptable explanation of wrongdoing? Oh yeah, since never. I discovered that excuse didn't work in elementary school, I suspect that you did as well.
