Perhaps the reason you never heard anything in the media is because they didn't want you to hear anything... Next you will say that the Fake news Media doesn't spin anything the President says... All we have had for 5 years is spin... President Trump disrupted the political systems because they couldn't control him. He had his own money... so... they started attacking him from day one and indoctrinated millions just like you to believe their false narrative.

As far as president Trump contacting the families of fallen soldiers... you might want to do some fact checking. Even if the president did contact the families of the officer that died that day it is now believed it had little to do with the riots... it wasn't a fire extinguisher to the head as claimed by the media... But in the midst of the 2016 election, Brian D. Sicknick, an officer with the U.S. Capitol Police, and Caroline Behringer, an adviser for a liberal congresswoman, found common ground.
They met mornings at an entrance to the Capitol, she heading to her office, he protecting those doing the people’s work. They chatted about unwinding in the outdoors and joked about being on opposite sides of the political divide tearing the nation apart.
“There was a shared humanity,” Behringer said, noting, “My job was very much dependent on him keeping me safe.”
Sicknick, a 12-year veteran, died Thursday night, a day after police said he physically engaged with the riotous mob that broke into the Capitol trying to overturn the November election President Trump had lost.
The 42-year-old from South River, N.J., was the sixth U.S. Capitol Police officer to die in the line of duty since 1952, and the fourth to be a victim of an attack on the Capitol grounds.
Police did not provide details of how Sicknick was injured. His cause of death has not been determined, though homicide detectives from the D.C. police department have taken charge of the investigation.
Acting attorney general Jeffrey A. Rosen said in a statement that Sicknick died of “the injuries he suffered defending the U.S. Capitol, against the violent mob who stormed it on January 6th.” Rosen added the FBI and D.C. police “will jointly investigate the case and the Department of Justice will spare no resources in investigating and holding accountable those responsible.”
In a statement, Sicknick’s family said “many details regarding Wednesday’s events and the direct causes of Brian’s injuries remain unknown and our family asks the public and the press to respect our wishes in not making Brian’s passing a political issue.”

It makes no sense and is quite a stretch even for you. Secondly, calling BLM members scum or thugs isn't helping your cause around here or hopefully anywhere. Thirdly, the discussion of the Jan 6th riot immediately sends you to question other incidents instead of addressing it specifically. Keep in mind one of BLMs focal points is reparations. Did any of your relatives over 150 years ago own slaves? The worst part, in my opinion, is that racism STILL happening, not the horrific owning of slaves or even being told what water fountain to drink out of or where to sit on a bus, but it's still rampant. Deny it all you want. The color of my skin makes me a spy in the company of some people that illustrate that to me openly (after checking the room). It is a serious problem, hopefully not as bad in California as it here in the Midwest. I believe it's you in this case that is naive.
A copout no pun intended. I've know a lot of people in law enforcement both here and in Southern Cal, and what is hugely responsible is a scarily high percentage of racist police officers. It's not hatred as much as a complete and total divide in humanity, and it's heartbreaking. In your paragraph you used they, their and we. The divides are in your head, not in people.
You are talking about economics which are endlessly debatable. The only thing constant is that everyone thinks their opinion is correct. Those same words would better serve the problem of racism.

Like building diplomatic relations with foreign governments... it doesn't belong in heath care. It doesn't need to own any land in the states that it does... it could be returned to the states and the state could determine what the land be used for. The feds only need military training grounds and bases, offices for SS, the post office and other services... and land for roadways and associated infrastructure.
