InfiniteReality's Gen3 Build

How long it takes to make the seat? looks good!!

Sorry I missed this reply, I shipped it off when I took bike apart. I think beginning of May. Mine would already be done and back in my hands, other than I added a custom embroidery and it had to get digitized before he could start. Can't comment on comfort on the Gen3, but if it's anything like the Gen1/2 it'll be fantastic.

Having only seen 4 gen3's in person, and sat on the one, and with the same frame, swingarm, and basic engine, I think we'll find it to basically be what we think it is...a refined and tweaked gen2.
However, as I've said before, I found the gen3 to be more comfortable than the gen2, so there are noticeable changes.
You need to go with one of your buddies to your local 'friendly' Suzuki dealer, ...I'm sure you could have fun haggling with them...lmao

1000% accruate. Feels very much the same, but very much more refined with the bonus of hte new tech.

Amazon can have them to you in 2 days if you have a Prime account. :D

Well that didn't last long.... I'll have to go find the link and get some ordered then. :)

Your "friendly" Suzuki dealer comment hit home with me. I went to the local dealer the other day, walk up to the parts counter and the guy just stares at me. I ask if they had an o-ring in stock for a 2000 hayabusa but has a 2002 style gas tank but I don't know what the o-ring is called.

He doesn't say a word and prints out a 2000 fuel pump diagram and hands it to me. Explain to him it has a newer style in tank fuel pump so the diagram from a 2002 would be what I need.

Then without saying anything still to this point hands me the 2002 diagram, I tell him the number of the part and he says "$12.50", or some dollar amount near there. I pay the man and he says come back next week and we should have it.

This is when I said that would have been good info to have before I paid you for it. If it's not in stock I would like a refund and I will purchase it for 50% less off Revzilla and probably get it sooner. He still doesn't say a word and hands me back my money.

I know it's petty but I will gladly drive out of my way to go to the next closest dealer after that.

Sorry to vent in your thread InfiniteReality. I've been following the build and damn is it looking good!

Sorry to laugh, but @Bumblebee and I have been discussing how bad our local dealers are too.

New spring tool even worse, but apparently got lucky with aligning fingers on my old one first shot today. Swing arm officially installed and bike lowered, spring's powdercoat injured, lol.

I recognize this guy, he supplies the sensor extension. Reminds me I need to order something from him.

Ordered rear line today, said should ship out today as well.

Finally back on it's rear stand, header time late tonight maybe.

Look at the positive side, at least you didn’t take your bike to them to touch it. My ONLY time at a dealer was for the rectifier recall and they left the belly wing lose and it melted against the exhaust. I might sound like an jerk for saying this, but I’m ready for Amazon to start selling cars and motorcycles so that all these scumbags go out of business. They are experts at ruining your day and killing the excitement and joy the purchase of a new vehicle brings. Did I mention that I hate dealerships?…………..

I'm too poor to take my bike to a dealer, lol. Doing the work myself and I'm already running thin on funds! But I enjoy a good challenge.

Isn't there a company that sells cars online already? Carvana maybe? Just give Amazon some more time to figure out their business model so they can replicate and improve. I can see this happening.

Even if one had the cash, I wouldn’t give it to them. Lol

Didn't have it in me to go back out there late last night, was being lazy since I told myself I needed a little more time to get it finished. Hopefully today, although have to drop the trim and boomerangs off for paint and possibly tint the lighting ever so slightly.

3D scanner finally got shipped and in route. I know it won't work out if I plan to get the bike together before summer is over since I have to learn the software to use it, but wishful thinking would be awesome if I was able to scan all the trim in before reinstalling it after paint.

Can’t slow down now that you created this thread and we are all going to be harassing you if you don’t update. :poke:

You'll get a chance.
Given your history with plasti-dip, I'de say you repainting the bike again soon is a strong possibility, lol.

It's not an easy bike to be an idiot on as it's very recognizable for sure.

I wish there were other Hayabusas around here especially a gen 3 so I can give it a look over.

I like the direction @InfiniteReality is going with his bike...it will be unique
I'm in the same boat with the red on my bike. Plenty of blue and black bikes around but not many red and only heard of one a few years ago the supposedly had the same paint scheme. Definitely makes it hard to be too stupid close to home:laugh:

PLEASE DO if I slow down, may need motivation.....although at this point big stuff is almost complete, almost.

Unless I get a set of Chinese fairings, no dipping this bike at all. Not happy with dip f'ing up my stock paint on the 09 after dip #4. Lost all trust in the product on anything of value. And DipYourCar was of no help with the issue. BUT I like changing stuff up visually so I don't get bored, I think this bike will get new accent colors every rear tire... $ for $, it's probably about the same price (and less work for me), lol.

Yeah, I remember the plasti-dip damaged the paint, so I figured you'de just paint it every time now, lol.

What happened with the plastidip? Did it peel off the top layer of paint when removed or something? I've used it a few times on random things, not sure how I feel about it. It's an awesome way to change things up without being permanent, but I think I just suck at painting in general so it's never come out great for me.

Weren’t you going to tint the chrome pieces too or that’s done and I missed it?

I feel the same about the results I get, but watched a video some time ago where the guy put the bottle in hot water before using it, so maybe that’s my problem.

No dang work done... Wife is sick, so I get even more double duty than normal, lol. Nothing major so maybe tomorrow

I did drop off all my stuff for paint and picked a color, Pepperdust, but with satin clear.

Side fairing grills will be satin black.

Headlight, taillight and front signals were also dropped off and will get sprayed a very light coat of tint with gloss clear. 50/50 on this being worth the extra $80ish, but hoping it'll be just enough to make them blend a tiny bit better with the pearl white paint. One of those while I'm at it ideas

As for the chrome side boomerangs. No go on spray tinting them as I planned, if I wsnt it to hold up. So they'll get what I'm calling the @Spudley mod.... I haven't seen anyone else do this to them to this extent and jealous I didn't think of it so I'll let him share. Thanks for the suggestion!

Looks like everything should be in my hands Friday afternoon. Only thing I'll have to wait till Monday to drop everything off for powdercoat. Getting close!
