InfiniteReality's Gen3 Build

Picked up my satin parts today, pretty happy with how everything came out. Finally could put the rear wheel together so I can get the tire mounted tomorrow.

Painted the hub bolts satin black. Due to tolerances for axle and spacers, some small spots were bare aluminum still. Any spot like behind sprocket, rotor and actual wheel center (between hubs) was simply colored with a Sharpie. Kinda pointless, but why not. Gen1 needed just a tiny bit of grinding to fit, Chinese tolerances, lol.

Tested out some light smoke Vivid vinyl over the chrome boomerangs. Very hard to tell in pictures, but it definitely dims the brightness of chrome alot. I think this is route I'm going for my boomerangs.

Finally able to see the whole wheel together felt nice, but good bit still to go. I thought our family vacation started in 1 week and I'd be able to leave bike mostly done, but apparently that starts next week, haha. Oh well, what's another week.

I'm not sure why I feel the need to update almost daily, but since I'm in the habit and to be thorough here's last nights....

Got the rear sets and passenger pegs assembled and installed, all match now. Content with how the passenger peg grinding came out.

When I say I want nothing shiny, I mean it... Even c-clips on the pegs get turned black. I think one of the most useful things I've learned assembling bikes is how useful a Sharpie is when you are trying to eliminate as many shiny objects as you can. It's surprisingly durable and holds up great in the weather. Just a couple of pictures of random things that got the Sharpie, very small % of what all actually has been colored. I'm also swapping some of the silver bolts with replacement black stainless bolts, for instance the screws under the pegs and a "plug" for where the peg extensions once were. When the swingarm comes out, the silver dog bones will get swapped for black adjustable and the silver shock mount will get some paint. it's the little things....

Kind of disappointed I have to pause the project for a week for vacation, antsy to get this finished.

This thread has me like some YouTube channels I’m subscribed to. If I don’t see any new pics/videos I’m like, why is there no new content yet?!!!
Keep the updates coming, we are all looking forward to seeing this thing together

Black stainless screws for peg pads and peg dragger holes.

Rewired the headlight with a SPDT relay. Was going to keep stock wires intact but really no point since never will go back to stock and ran Gen2 similar way. With the DRL being PWM, no simple way to disable them during the daytime, so will run like this and see how I like.

Front wheel is in the chock finally. Vacation is on hold for a night, vaguely sick kid. But taking advantage of the little bit of time here and there while at home.

My spring compressor is too large, only was able to get the original spring off. Smaller tool due in Wednesday.

Painting the lower shock mount black, of course, while waiting.

I did discover without a shock the arm can contact the left passenger peg, right was okay.

I might have to put on my flame suit after confessing to this, but I had the same problem with my spring compressors being too big, so I used ratchet straps and it worked great! Did my shock and serviced another members shock using same method.

Man, I wanted to Google a way but knowing I can do other stuff while I waited helped. If this one doesn't work I'll resort to that.

Gotta put the tail on and retake the pics lol

This is looking goooood
Thanks! I may do just that, no need to be off now that brake flasher is installed.

Stainless black bolts for engine cover, as well as aluminum oil cap. Ever since I removed fairings the gray kind of bugs me. Matches the triple but may pull and get it powdercoated down the road.

With arm installed I was finally measure for clearance between tire and arm. 7in so ordered a 2.5# bottle, mount, valve, gauge, line to take up the space. No plans to ever plumb it, mainly for looks.

I'll get bottle powdercoated same as well. Probably do the axle adjusters the same, for kicks, since they have covers. And oil cap.

Still 50/50 on if I should have left hubs same as wheel color, but does make the wheel design pop more. I need to put the cush drive on.

Yet again, more satin black painting, 3pt shock mount and the lower shock itself. I think this is last time to paint, hopefully.

Installed some frame plugs, direct from China. Once shock is installed I can put the final one in.

Since I won't ever be plastidipping this bike, I'm kind of thinking that every time it's due for a new rear tire I'll get all the Shocker Yellow redone a different color.

Match the bottle to the wheels, and plumb it to a air shifter so it’s useful.

Or one of those led purge kits, neon green led? Put the purge lines in the intake vents, so it come out like a angry bull? I wouldn’t normally suggest that but I mean you gonna have the bottle there anyway and u ordered lines and a gauge......
