InfiniteReality's Gen3 Build

Wet coat 1 and 2 are on. Waited about 90min after first coat to when it tacked up and applied a 2nd coat. I watched the pot life of the epoxy with a heat gun to let it thicken in hopes more would stick to the vertical sides. I also applied peel ply after the 2nd coat to keep epoxy better in place and seemed to work. Appears to possibly be fairly smooth after I sand the peel ply texture off.

Forged carbon looks okay in pictures, but in person or video it's alot more unique as the light refracts off all the individual carbon shards.

While skinning takes time, in reality it doesn't actually take a ton of time. 30min here, 30min there. I'd guess I have 2hrs of actual time invested in this so far from prep to paint to epoxy to wet coats.

When/if I do the rest of the trim, I won't muddy up my thread of process pics. Only sharing these for kicks if anyone is interested in the process. Since I'm trying a few new things, helps me log what I did so can repeat.

That's cool!

Won't do the back to back coats or peel ply again. The few spots that it didn't stay stuck to were very low compared to rest. I did more sanding today than I care to admit, but got it nice a smooth before possibly the last coat.

Outside pic is before all the sanding and inside pic is after sanding plus epoxy.

It may take some filing or sanding to get edges right so it fits, time will tell.

When I powdercoat the rear wheel should I get these done in same color or do them black? I'm thinking wheel color but if was black, it'd maybe blend in with swing arm and make the wheel stand out more?

I think it depends on the color. Sometimes black breaks it up just enough plus may not look as dirty if you are going with a light color. I’m all about color match but you don’t want it cutting out details also if it’s all one color.

I concur, thinking the same. The wheel color will be light so definitely a contrast if I did them black. I need to do some googling and see how they look. Or maybe hit up ATC to inquire what they typically do and if have pics to share.

Old stuff gone, new titanium laid in place. Didn't have to disconnect any hoses, but I have skinny hands. GSXR1K pipe still has butterfly on it but almost matches up. Until I install the arm, won't know if I'll need more titanium to connect the 2 pipes .

Won't actually install the header until I get dog bones swapped out and probably the arm, just so I can use the pan and some wood for the motorcycle jack. Learned to do it all together this time, make my life a little easier hopefully

Dropped off the large stuff to get powdercoated, may have back by the weekend. Mailing front and rear seat tomorrow.
