InfiniteReality's Gen3 Build

Old stuff gone, new titanium laid in place. Didn't have to disconnect any hoses, but I have skinny hands. GSXR1K pipe still has butterfly on it but almost matches up. Until I install the arm, won't know if I'll need more titanium to connect the 2 pipes .

Won't actually install the header until I get dog bones swapped out and probably the arm, just so I can use the pan and some wood for the motorcycle jack. Learned to do it all together this time, make my life a little easier hopefully

Dropped off the large stuff to get powdercoated, may have back by the weekend. Mailing front and rear seat tomorrow.

Glad you are getting things done, but that exhaust looks huge in that pic.

There will be no hiding these till the end, especially since I need to mount the front (with tire) so I can put it in the wheel lock to secure when I change the arm.

Color isn't for everyone (or maybe more accurately no one), but while this isn't a favorite color of mine I've always been pretty fond of it due to being unique. Really have no clue if I will like or hate this color on a white bike.... I'll give it through the weekend before I install the bearings and tires, just to make sure. When I built my little stunt CRF50, it was done in this color as well so I guess they'll match in the end. :)

I still have to finish disassembling the rearsets, passenger pegs and I'm sure I'll find a part or 2 as well to get done and will drop it all off Monday.

Something valuable I knew, but learning more about. The Gen3 is CANBUS which is known, but I did not realize the brake light wire is PWM so it operates different than it use to which means no easy way to make them strobe. I think I found an alternate solution, but will see.

Totally agree with you, I REALLY wish we had the option of bright colors or ordering in a unique color. And that's just because I like brighter colors, the real bonus to wild colors is safety IMO

Just got confirmation this brake light flasher DOES work with the CANBUS of our bikes. It is also plug and play, which is a nice bonus. 108K settings is pretty overwhelming, the 10 setting is probably good enough honestly. I did 108k because I enjoy messing with options and such.

Yooooo loving these!!! Reminds me of GHG from Ford. Looked for 9months this before giving up and buying my Deep Impact car. Cannot wait for the rest of this build!

Honestly,..LOVE LOVE LOVE the color and wish Suzuki would release bikes in bright colors like the exotic cars. Greens, Oranges, Blue, Purple, etc all should be a factory color or option to be ordered. The Black, White, Silver, Red, etc are so beat to death. Do something new for once Suzuki… :cussing:
Josh did you say bright colors?. I'm coming for you Mister !!!, but those bright green wheels Del has going on can't be beat.

Yes I agree with the super car color selections. I believe the new Hayabusa deserves a classic set of colors in a whole new way rather than an older-style design. New, innovative, stylish !.

We do ride the high end speed predator.

I can't quite decide, but leaning towards redoing both side hubs of the rear wheel in black. Any opinions?

I hate the rotor. From the lettering to the chrome, hate it. It's got a decent bit smaller ID than the stock one. Im going to attempt to see if I can find an OEM rotor to replace it, but unsure if I can find dimensions of every stock rotor.

Scuffed, etching primer and painted the sprocket hub and sprocket bolts. I have the rearset bolts scuffed and ready for some black tomorrow.

Vinyl is a spot on match, but it's very thick... Like PPF thick. I'm sure how well it'll contour on the trim.

While I'm getting the tires mounted Monday, I'll drop off the rearsets and passenger peg stuff for some satin black powder

I’d leave the whole hub and everything that bright green, maybe black sprocket if u don’t have a matching green contrast cut one already, and find a oem rotor and machine it out, those look cool. Suzuki was pretty consistent with the tears, if it’s a 5 bolt, any newer gsxr 5 bolt rotor should fit. I might even have one u can just have lol I’ll look. That Hayabusa rotor looks super early 2000’s bolt on custom and the chrome peels fast in the friction area. My 2 Cents.

Looks great as is and it’s your money, but u wanted opinions lol

That's a great point, it very well could just easily be a gen1 rotor. Fixing to measure it and report back.

Parts for powdercoat tomorrow, all satin black.

Pic of the left passenger mount after initial cut off. Wished I'd taken some of the backside.

Since this is the 2020s, found some 3d models of exhaust tubing template. Basically Legos for exhaust routing. Sucks I have to wait till the end to put my header on, but hope to use them to bring to welder in hopes to get them to dulpicate it with titanium (hoping for pie cut mid pipe) without needing the bike. FYI this is actually 2" model I scaled up to 2.25", total print time was 34hrs.

Decided to get the hubs redone in satin black. Unsure if this is a good or bad call because it certainly didn't look bad with them being shocker yellow, just hope it looks a wee bit better when done.

I left bushings in the rearsets, told the powdercoat I take responsibility if any issues. As you'll notice half the parts were already black, just doing others so they're all consistent.

Have to blast and repaint the sprocket nuts and cush drive, decided to go satin instead of gloss on the hubs.

When dropping the parts off the powdercoat, had the front tire mounted/balanced since I can't do rear wheel until the hubs come back and can put bearings in. At least now I can reassemble the front and get it on the ground and strapped into the chock so I can get some real progress made.

10 days into the build.... It has not rained a drop since and it seems that we have avoided lovebug season (so far), go figure, lol. No clue on how long this will take, I just keep pecking at it when I have the time.

I couldn't find any real dimensions on the Gen1 rear rotor other than it's definitely smaller than Gen3, which falls inline with the 240mm I measured, so on a whim I took advantage of Amazon free returns, ordered one and crossed my fingers. My thinking is the busa seems to have really started the whole fat tire, extended arm craze back then so if ATC made a kit, I'd like to think they just reused the stock rotor at the time and then kept using it. It's logical, I think, but probably not accurate. Will report back.

Got front tire mounted in mean time, he even asked direction of wheel.... So I made the bad assumption he got it right, lol. Hoping parts will be ready and can at least get it swapped, without incident, the correct way.

Repainted the sprocket bolts and cush satin today and chopped valve off the GSXR1K pipe. Not often get to cut titanium. Finding out tire was wrong way blew out some steam, lol

Got the call parts were ready, but didn't have much time so pushed it off till tomorrow and I get tire flipped around.

Thanks to @Spudley for the gen 1 rear rotor suggestion, turns out it's match. In hindsight, the obvious clue it was a gen 1 is the logo itself. $30 and no more cheesy and shiny!

Installed this and doesn't get any easier. Don't need to program as it learns itself. But you do have option to customize.

Cleaned up muffler. Haven't tried polish on anything yet.
