It just doesn't stop

I'm curious how you expected to wake an economy up from a COVID coma and not have inflation. You're stuck on silly talking points like immigration. This country was built on immigration and a part of your high food prices is because a lot of the people who pick that food for nothing are stuck at the border. You all claim Biden is a puppet but that's Maga logic - meaning it's completely unsupported. As an old person, I constantly watch hot-shoe young people panic until I fix things for them. I think the real problem people have with Biden is Kamala. I think she could be president (trump?, Bush??) but a lot of people would poop a brick if the first woman president is also black.
Could have started with opening it. But nnnnope liberal governors of the largest states like NY, NJ and Cali kept hold of the power and closed them for longer than anywhere else. Florida BOOMED while those states rotted.
But nah it doesn’t have anything to do with policy or politics right?
The fact you think the immigration problem is a silly talking point says a lot.

I wouldn’t vote for Kamala Harris. Every time (every) time I’ve seen her being interviewed or just speaking she laughs, seemingly uncontrolled. WTH is that about? I realize VPs seldom actually do anything for the country but has she done anything (anything) at all? When they both ran for office I kind of liked her but not since. Who else is there, on either side?

Florida currently has the 4th largest economy in the US behind NY, TX and yup CA! This is based on gross domestic product. I would love to see Desantis debate Newsome. Desantis would get his ass handed to him. Don't take this as I am a Newsome liberal fan I just like to deal with facts and statistics. There was no big boom in Florida or rot in NY or California.

Yeah sure…

I’m glad you mentioned economies.
Cali $32 billion in debt
Florida $22 billion surplus

There ain’t one thing Newsom has over DeSantis. And a debate would be a great op for DeSantis to shred him on his policy and politics. Both of which suck. Respectfully your nuts!

cfif.org...that just feels sketchy but ok, those numbers don't make any sense here are the numbers I have. California leads the nation in debt at 520 billion. Florida is in 5th place at 131 billion. Neither of these states have a surplus. You might want to stop using that site. Since California's GDP is over 2 trillion more than Florida it's a mute point!?!? California could pay it's debt and Florida's. Is this all you could find and using fly by night web sites?

PBS make you feel better?

Good job ignoring my other two links. Those states are dying. Florida is booming. Why?

PBS is better for sure. In your first post you used the word "debt" and now you are using "deficit" which one is it because these are two different things?

I ignored the other links because I don't see the connection of people moving or leaving a state having any kind of direct correlation to that states economy per say. Many people cash out of high priced housing markets like California and move to other states to retire. Doesn't mean the state they left had a bad economy or the state they moved to has a good economy??? It's kinda of irrelevant talking points I feel like you included because the right loves bring them up.

BTW, I'm going to bed so the lack of my response to your response that I'm sure will be here shortly doesn't mean anything other then I'm sleepy and this conversation isn't worth the oxygen. You are wrong though. LOL Good night.

Not sure it would be such a slam dunk. Newsome's residents tried to have him recalled. Granted it failed. That would be hard to avoid in a debate.

And of course they would need to discuss the tax differences between the 2 states. And the state of their major sized cities in decay.

And yeah it is relative why populations decline strongly in some states and go to other states. If I'm cashing out of where I am leaving and cashing in to where I'm going , I want to know I am moving to something better run, looks out for my interest and is a place I want to live the remainder of my life in.

Disney was taking resources out of Ca., and into Fla. Desantis is now making Disney re-think that.

All of this would be debate worthy topics.

Newsome does great when it's been a rehearsed and everyone stays on script.

Personally I don't want to live in either state. I lived in both. Fla tanked during Chiles admin. It's boomed since. If I'm choosing where I'd want my money to be, I'd pick Fla. But they both have their fair share of problems now.

Between the two the choice is clear to any sane minded individual. We don’t have dying cities here or groups of criminals ruling the streets. But in my life of 50yrs I’ve seen Florida change. SoFla where I live is now overrun with a bunch of out of staters who do nothing but tell me how much better it was where they came from. Most every time it’s in my office so I have to bite my lip. But if one more person tells me how much better the water was in NY I’ll scream. :)

I’m thinking about a home in the woods of Appalachia now. Porch, rocking chair, dog and a still in the woods I’ll be fine…

I used to hear people whining and moaning about how bad it is here and how great it was where they came from...

My response was jump on a plane and head on back if it's so great...if you don't then shut the heck up.

Not long ago I talked to a person (refugee) that was complaining about the winter here, I said well if you intend to stay, the winters aren't going to get warmer so you had better either learn to live with it or go somewhere where winters are better....

Maybe they'll head to Florida....LOL!

Great idea regarding the porch, dog and rocking chair with a 12ga across the knees...just in case....

Just setting up the next group of charges is all they’re doing.
Charged with felonious posting on Facebook I’m sure is coming.
I'm not so sure. The old phrase the third time's the charm comes into play. His attempt(s) to overturn the election are what's going to come back to bite him.

For me it's twisties. I only have a few years left of aggressive riding and it's been my passion in life. The roads here in the Ozarks are tremendous but I hate winter. Cali has it all including sky high rent. I visit a friend in Mar Vista often. Haven't seen those criminals ruling the streets, and I doubt Florida is completely without that element. Point is, to each his own.

My sister often mentions Cuban gangs in Florida and how much of a pain in the rear they are....

Yes there is crime everywhere. There was a bad meth cooking problem here in and around Springfield MO and although authorities got a hand on it, the effects hang around kind of like the pandemic. In my experience, areas of the U.S. that have a bad reputation crime wise are better than you expect, and areas with a good reputation don't completely live up to it. There's good and bad everywhere.

Even here in the backwoods....not long ago there was a big drug bust where they nabbed 22 people....I think because it's the backwoods, it attracts subversive people and groups who think just because of it's location they can fly below the radar....

Thankfully they can't...

No crime here. Forty miles away is a city with a half million people and the resulting crime that population brings. I only go there when necessary and thankfully their crime rate hasn’t come this way. My entire county only has around 155,000 people and my lil community, around 11,000. There‘s only a couple towns with police departments. Most of the area is patrolled by county cops or the CHP. 22 Smiles from Yosemite NP too. Have I mentioned that? Come for a visit.
