I understand your point that you feel that they deserve a chance to become legal. And that debate has been around awhile. And yes it takes employers to be part of the solution.These are all good questions....but it still doesn't make my idea totally insane....
I'd say some of your farmers are complicit with enabling them.....
That being said, if they are doing what I described...what is the issue with just getting them legal and letting them carry on with the work that nobody else is doing?
How about alright Mr X. You've been here for Z years illegally. If you pay back taxes and get all your proper paperwork done, perhaps that's a good pathway to stay.
The trouble is for every Mr X above, there are legal aliens here, doing it all like they should, that get penalized because Mr X cut into their legal job market. And their legal dues/taxes they paid. Make Mr X pay up his back taxes and now we have some better equalities.
