The original strip was 3 feet but can be cut every inch without damaging the inside LED. The strip was about $7 shipped. I cut it to fit this inner space and glued it in place.

Another lighting project has been to install my 3watt LED lights inside the air intakes. I had these on the previous Hayabusa and also installed them on my Z1000. I originally got these from SportBikeLites.com

I had originally installed this kit from SportBikeLites:

But once I got it installed, I didn't really like it thinking it's not bright enough. I wanted the inside of the air intakes to glow day or night.

So this time around I thought I’ll just install an led strip and done. These are inexpensive and simple to
work with.

And lastly, insert the intake screens :

my bike didn’t come with any, but I did find the right side screen in the air box. go figure.

Since it seemed near impossible to find or buy a left side screen, for $17 shipped, I bought a spare ram air tube that included the screen off eBay.

That black thingy hanging down is the temperature sensor for the MultiMeter 5 mentioned earlier.

All the new lights are plumbed into the PMR Components triple bar switch so they all can be turned on- off independently.

Plus when running electric heated gear, all the lights get turned off to not overtax the stator.

Lastly, I swapped out the battery for a new one . No idea how old the one that came with the bike is and don't want to be stranded by a bad battery as the new tour season is about to begin.

The above vid: I'm a big fan of Brake Light Modules. Have used them for 300,000 miles of riding on nearly every bike I've owned.

You can get them from Signal Dynamics in FL but the one I'm using is from Healtech Electronics for the main brake light.

Healtech Electronics Brake Light Pro

The little flashy lights though I bought for $18 by accident from American Legend Rider. I bought what I thought were LED spot lights, but got sent brake lights that flash. Go figure. Instead of returning them, I mounted 'em up on the license plate bolts.. They are super noticeable and that's the idea.

Well kids, just about run out of mods to do. This thread has been running over a year to mold this bike to my needs.

I had dug out my Zero Gravity Clear SR windscreen days before the last ride. Rain was predicted and I chickened out and put the taller Sport-Touring screen on.

Passed by a narrow back country road I had not ridden.

I wonder where that goes? But it turned out to soon be gravel. Too stubborn to backtrack, then it started to rain and I pushed on.

But then it started hailing.

Fine, couple miles from my house, slow ride home in the rain

Have been wanting to put on a set of shorty levers, so called up an old friend at FP Racing and asked if he could make me a new set.

FP is the only outfit I know that can custom engrave all four sides.

I’m retired from selling product, but I sold a lot of these to members here on the forum. I still love this sort of custom made bling.
