MotoGp 2022

Bad news for Marquez. The writing is on the wall. Might be time to walk away while you still have most of your health.
Unfortunately Marc and HONDA are their own worst enemies...through ALL sessions he had countless front and rear slides + bins yet they never took those warnings to at least 'back' off a tad and settle for a lower position shame on both.
Not good news tho..

Unless I miss (pretty likely!) my guess, HRC or at least Marquez side of the garage were likely dialing the electronics back to work with the antique rear tire design Michelin brought to this round. It really is the riders job to ascertain how little nanny intrusion they can make work. Maybe he found the outer limit too late. I admire the courage, but at some point you just have to say maybe a 10th is good enough at this early stage of the season and live to fight another day. I just don't think Marquez possesses that particular mindset.

Me either and I could respect that if he didn’t crash 2-3 times every time he gets in the seat. And what’s this ‘antique’ tire design about? Other than riders complaining about their tires which is a common occurrence, what’s antique about them?

He had the razor edge for quite awhile, but eventually it dulls for everyone, the trick is to know when to quit.

The tyre was developed back in 2018 (?) for the very type of conditions found at Lombok , but during testing a few weeks back michelin didnt use them they bought new versions to trial they were not avaliable last weekend which i think the teams thought they were going to get.

So, all the teams got them, not just Honda? Everyone else seemed to ‘adjust’ to them. WTH was Michelin thinking? Just a huge mistake?

All of these bikes perform differently. Honda has been having rear traction issues for a while. Also the way Marquez rides he tolerates a lot of slipping and sliding. That allowed him to ride closer to the limit, past the point where other riders slow down. The result was a huge high side.

There are 2 ways to look at riding a race bike. Ride the bike to the limit of the bike to perform safely or you can ride past the bike's limit and rely on your skill to maintain control. MM has been riding the Honda outside of its linear performance limit his whole career. That's why he crashes a lot and that's why he was the fastest. Someone once told me "you can ride with your mind or you can ride with your heart. Riding with the heart is faster, riding with your mind is safer".

Very hard hit ,I rather see him like this ,hopefully he will make the rite
choice for his future.

This is what you get for booking at the last minute! :fire:

Notice that Rossi has the best race lap SEVEN years ago and Márquez holds the all time lap record EIGHT years ago. Doesn’t say very much for new tech does it?View attachment 1649112
Prolly something to do with dumbed down electronics etc , all the manufacturers couldnt believe how limiting the then new ecu's were, thats why we have aero packages now to help control wheelies and what not
