MotoGP 2023

Another interesting take. Ken Kawauchi who came over to Honda after Suzuki disbanded asked the team to try out some old stuff at the test, to the dismay of most. Even going so far as 86'ing the winglets altogether. I think he is trying to fully understand the baseline before randomly pursuing what works for everyone else.

This says to me that the Ducati and Aprillias are ready to go and everyone else is still trying to figure it out. Bagnaia is a notoriously poor starter but if he can make it through the first part of the season he'll be hard to beat on the fastest bike. You have to figure MM is overriding the Honda but looks like the new Honda is not there yet. I don't know what to say about Yamaha and Fabio. He's going to get hurt if he keeps trying to will that dog of a bike to the front.

It could be that these times just show that Ducati is ready to go and the rest, who had a long way to go, are still developing. I'm surprised the KTMs are so far back to. Also with the sprint races, the Ducati and Aprilia appear to have the best weapons.

You guys have to remember this is only testing so far. The First real test is when the Flag Drops in Portimao in a month and a half. But there is another full test scheduled 2 weeks prior to that, also in Portugal. If you climb in the Wayback machine to this time last year, Honda was at or near the top of the heap after the winter tests. By Seasons end Marquez was the top scorer for Honda and he didnt even race the whole season. A lot can, and will change by the next test even.

That being said, for the life of me I cannot understand why the hell they are putting on a race in Kazakhstan this year? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Well this isn't starting off well for 2023. Now Motogp is getting hit with a "Chip Shortage" problem of their own. Marelli may not be able to provide the Spec ECU's to all of the teams. Thought having a single supplier of spec ECU's would have prevented exactly this problem. I say make them all run the 2022 ecu's until everyone can get the new spec!

And now the Mooney VR46 (yep, him!) 2023 team bikes revealed yesterday! Marini was the fastest at the 2 tests so far this winter on this. He, and Bezzecchi might just ruffle a few feathers on them this year. Another test upcoming this weekend I believe, prior to the season opener, both in Portimao!
