Moving to America.

" Stay away from New England if female beauty is important to you. In Boston I saw 2 attractive women in 3 years. One was a professional escort(?) and the other was a German tourist. Taking a Boston girl for a ride on the pillion of your Busa would require two paper bags. One to fit over her head, and one to fit over yours in case hers blows off."

Slowhand,the post above was a riot.....It killed me!(lol)

Sharonb>>>>>I wouldn't let that bother you.I think Slowhand is having fun,at least I hope he is.I am sure there are beautiful girls there. On a serious note,I have seen three girls riding a Busa or other bigbore bikes and they are all much bigger than me and not very attractive.Has anyone seen a hot(lean and attractive) girl riding their own bike?Where?I want to meet some!

"If your good looking, have money and a nice bike you'll get along here just fine. Otherwise go somewhere"

Sharon, now that statement is typical of a white girl from the northeast. That's why I started dating black and spanish girls, they are more down to earth.I am jealous you have a Busa, though. Would you like to take me for a ride?????(lol!)

Thanks alot everybody. It sounds like LA is the place to go?? But here in Denmark we have the impression that LA i werry violent, but i think that in a city that big you mostly hear about the bad things. There are only living 5.5 million people in Denmark.

My @mail is c.sauer@post.tele.dk
If you got some god pictures, moives or sounds please send them!
And again thanks alot for the replys!!!
How are the auto mechanics in America?
In Denmark it takes 4years of education to be an auto mechanic. And at the end of the education you get an grade for how good you are at it and i got an "A".Thats the second best in Denmark. That must mean that im pretty good, "without being a show off".
I was educated from a BMW workshop.

There is a web site where you can enter the names of two U.S cities, and compare things, such as median incomes, housing prices, cost of living indexes, crime rates, etc. If I can remember the site name, I'll get back with you.
I can tell you that there are many people moving from the north and northeast, to the southeastern U.S., and they either mention to get away from the snow and cold weather, or looking for jobs. The southeast, particularly North Carolina and Georgia, have been in a growth spurt, so there's job opportunities, both blue and white collar.
There is tremendous diversity, both American and internationally, in Charlotte and Atlanta, due to many transferring into the area because of their professions, due to the many universities, and international airport hubs.
Certain cities across the U.S. have concentrations of certain professions, so what you do for a living should influence your decision.
From a riding perspective, North Carolina is great, because you can ride just a few hours in either direction, to get to either the Atlantic coast and beaches, or the Appalachian Mountains, which has skiing, hiking, etc, and some of the best curvy roads anywhere, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, which goes for hundreds of miles, through states from Georgia, to up in New England.
There is less that a half-hour drive between the most rural areas you'll ever find, to large cities of a half-million people. (It's not NY or L.A. if you want the world-class city).
Cost of living is excellent, and in good balance with income levels.
Southeast U.S. hurricanes, tornadoes, and humidity is no fun. Tax and insurance rates are good.

Sauer, in America all you need to be an auto mechanic is grease under your fingernails. Just kidding. There's a lot of specialization here, and those who specialize, like smog certification, or transmission repair, often attend short schools to get a diploma. Your BMW experience and any documentation you have should be as good as gold here. Good mechanics are in high demand in So. Calif.

Slowhand, I'm LOL with your previous remarks. I know the type. Knew this big girl once, that after she fell off the bike, she rocked herself to sleep trying to get back up.
Sauer, with your background with BMW, you might want to contact them, to see if they can assist you with a job relocation or contact. BMW put a major U.S. manufacturing facility just a few years ago in South Carolina (between North Carolina and Georgia). They build the M-3 roadster there; not sure if they build any bikes there, but the North Carolina State Highway Patrol last year switched from Harleys to the BMW police package. BMW may have it going on around here, and could get you connected as a mechanic, but I agree with the rest, that mechanics would do well anywhere securing a job.

Sarge, you are right. No. Carolina is booming, and it is mostly pretty country. It's worth Sauer's time to check it out.
The girl you are referring to is probably Betty's older sister Bertha. Runs a pig farm near Goldsboro. Thinking of giving it up, though. She fell into the pen one day and they had to DNA test the whole herd to decide which one was her.
She also has a sister in Nevada, but that's another story.

Maby i'll tjeck it out this summer, but can't find Carolina on my map?? were is it?
And im bringing my own girl from Denmark, i know she's Pretty.
I drove the M Z3 a few day this summer, very nice. Makes a good powerslide, like the Busa.

Sauer, find Washington, DC, on your map. The state just below and East is Maryland. Below that is Virginia, and just South of Virginia is North Carolina.

Hey, Slowhand, don't insult our pigs like that. We treat pigs real special 'round here. In fact, we got us one of them Special Pigs. A guy from Denmark just came by the house the other day to ask about our special pig, the one out on the front porch, beside the couch.
He said that he had never seen in all his life a pig with one wooden leg. He wanted to know why we had a wooden leg on The Pig. So I told him how that was a special pig, how it's like a member of the family, and even comes out on the porch and eats dinner with the rest of the family.
He said that he didn't understand, that it didn't explain why The Pig had a wooden leg.
So I told him about the time one of the young-uns got to working with The Pig when he was little, and taught him to oink once for 'yes', and to oink twice for 'no'. My, my, that's a special pig.
But the guy from Denmark said that that still didn't explain why there was a wooden leg on a pig.
So I told him about the time that The Pig saved our life when the house caught fire, when Junior was in the living room working on taking the spark arrestor out of the exhaust of his new dirt bike. When the house caught fire, The Pig saved all our lives. He busted right through the screen door, ran over to Darryl on the living room couch and told him to wake up and get out of bed, then he went upstairs and got the rest of us, then he pulled Junior to safety when he passed out from smoke inhalation. I'm telling you, that's a special pig.
Then the guy from Denmark started getting real aggervated with me, and said that that still didn't explain why there was a wooden leg on that pig. He said, sir, I just got to know, that he had never seen anything like that in his whole life. So I went ahead and told him, since he couldn't figure it out, since he wouldn't from around here.
I told him that when you have a special pig like that, you just don't want to eat him all at once.

Sounds like they wasted a lot of money on the DNA tests. Should have done IQ testing- quicker and cheaper. The lowest score, of course would have been Bertha.

I vote for Pennsylvania. The weather never gets to the extremes of Maine or Florida/Texas. There's a real pretty change of seasons. Even today is pretty, delivery day for my Y2k Busa (Dealer doesn't open 'til 10). It's 30deg F, no wind, bright sun, the light has an etheral quality to it. Throw on the Aero suit and rock'n roll.

You'll find that you need money (a good job) to get along in America. That's a fact of life. Living here is not cheap. Good auto mechanics are in demand though. You should do well here.

Dating American girls requires lots of money. No matter what they say otherwise.

Where you end up living is often a function of your employment.

In any case post your email address and we'll send you our phone numbers so you can ask questions and get advice.

Welcome to USA.

S@uer, if you have a problem with taxes in your home country, I'd suggest you look at Tennessee, Florida and Texas. These states have NO state income taxe and property taxes are low. I've lived in Kansas, No. Carolina and Louisana and thier state taxes are killers. As for riding Tennessee and Texas are great. Moderate weather, hills and mountains that offer great twisties. Good luck on your move and a big Texas welcome!

Here's the stat's if you live in Northern California near San Jose,Santa Clara,Fremont,San Francisco,Oakland area.

Buy:House Fixer upper average price $300,000-$400,000,size of house between 1,100 to 1,900sq/ft,if you move out to the mountians and the prices go down $125,000.

Rent: apartment $1,200-$2000/month house $1,700-$2,500/month.

Gas: for bike/car average $1.65 high test $1.45 87octan

Food: family of three about $400-$900/month which including going out to eat, cuts by 40% if you cook your own.

Insurance: Cars $300-$1,200 depending on engine size, amount of traffic tickets and commute from and to work.Motorcycle same average amount.
Good things about California, weather is good,Hitech stuff, lots of motorcycle runs for Harleys or Sport bikes,Laguna Seca or Sears raceways, good back roads, skiing up in Tahoe,Reno,LasVegas.
Bad things about California, bad drivers, high taxes, high insurance, high gas prices, people that run the state government or school systems do not know what they are doing.
My choice of places to live: San Diego near Vista,California; Austin Texas; Oregon; Washington State.East coast Florida; West Virgina; Central State Colorado. That is it. Good Luck on finding the right place for you.

Sauer, Southern Nevada is worth checking out, also. Las Vegas area, particularly. No state taxes and lots of riding room. Climate can be a little harsh compared to So. Calif. but you can easily ride all year. And yes, the girls are spectacular, as I'm sure our Vegas members would attest.
Sharonb, I'm sure that there must be one or two attractive women in Boston, besides you, of course. Maybe they've been imported from California or Vegas since I left, or maybe they are guarded closely by jealous husbands or boy friends, as they are rare jewels there.
More importantly, the deteriorated cow-paths that pass for roads there are not even fit to walk on, much less ride a bike on. The roads that are decent, such as the ones on Cape Anne or down at the Cape have speed limits in the 35mph range, are heavily patrolled, and so clogged with traffic that movement is snail-paced at best. That's not mentioning the weather or the notoriously idiotic drivers.
If you manage to ride a Busa and enjoy it under those conditions, you have my sincerest admiration and respect. And you're probably a raving beauty as well.

By the way, Sharon, say hello to Big Betty from Revere. You know, the typical N.E. Biker Chick. The 4 pack a day gal who hates "rice rockets." Rides a Hardly, and if you have to ask why, you wouldn't understand.
Big Betty, with the body like a sack of doorknobs, and a butt so wide that when its time to haul a**, it takes her 2 trips.
Big Betty, with the face that's been known to curdle milk at 1000 paces, and a complexion acquired from bobbing for french fries.
Big Betty's finest feature is her hair. It's as long as a rake handle, and really thick. Only problem, it's under her arms.
I could go on, but you get the picture.
FC 161,if you look in your tackle box, one of your fishing lines is missing. I'll return it as soon as I land my East Coast bite.8=)
