Moving to America.

Texas or Nevada. I like Texas better. Plus with riding all year around in these two its tough to decide.

That part about the Boston girls and the paper bag was hilarious. I have to say that I've been around the world and have had the priviledge of noticing beautiful women wherever I went.

I grew up in Seattle. If you live there you better like riding in rain and terrible traffic jams. If you are in computers or the aerospace industry, or biotechnology, there are lots of very high-paying jobs there. If you like to fish, hunt, or ski, Seattle is as good as it gets.

But Slowhand let out the secret about San Diego. Southern California is an expensive place to live, but every day is warm and sunny. Every woman is young and beautiful and friendly (except for the ones who work for the Highway Patrol...they're old and ugly and mean!), and LA is close...and that's where the LABusas are. So Southern Cal is the place to be!

Mange tak"Danish"= Thanks alot.
Im very grateful for all your replys.

Cisco San Jose:
Why dont you think that the hi-tech companies will go big the next few years??
The next things people need is robots for the home, and the stocks are cheap now!

1300RX,the Hitech companies will keep going up and if you do not buy stocks at the ground level meaning when IPO starts at $12-$25 a share and goes up to $85-$105 a share it will keep out the common person to buy stocks and only the rich or big time funds will be able to buy.It will be good for them but for the small time investor it will be hard to buy good stocks on the ground level, most brokers look out for their big time investors first who can release at will $50,000 to $100,000 at a phone call and that's the person that will get good service. Only with luck that a small person can make it if she/he goes on ETRADE or other online trading that is legite and in good standing.Sorry for going off the subject of motorcycles but with out my stocks and money I've made I would not have been able to buy any of my motorcycles. It's not all rosies with the stock market and if I had gotten in earlier in life I would have been a millionair a long time ago.Like they said no guts no glory and read and study everything in life and give back to the church of your choice.I also buy 10% of my net in gold coins and invest in land.I do not buy fancy clothes or anything flashy,I do not waste my money on booze or smoking stuff or drugs.

I agree with most of Cisco's choices. Colorado Springs is very nice, and not too expensive. Lots of mountains, skiing, and pretty girls. In California, North San Diego County (Vista-Escondido) is nice and not too expensive. Carlsbad Raceway and the LABusas are close by. Is there a lot of violence in LA? Yes and no. If you want to find drug addicts in Amsterdam, they are easy to find. But it doesn't mean everyone who lives in Amsterdam is into drugs. LA is a big city. There are a lot of nice, peaceful, safe places there. I recommend the Stir Crazy coffee house on Melrose Ave. in Hollywood on any Saturday afternoon.

Thanks alot guys

That was very usable!!
I read your topic on the stock market. Nice work, what do you think on Robot factory stocks?? I think its going sky high in a few years??
Its just a thought i had. I have absolutly no experience in stocks.

Some thoughts

Someone knowledgeable should start a stock tips thread. That said, you should know that there is no substitute for doing your own research.

In Pennsylvania the median house price is $135,000 for 1500-2000 sq feet. Groceries about 425 a month for 3 people. 2% state income tax, 6% sales tax, acceptable property taxs, Bike insurance for a new Busa is $310 but can get to $1200 if below age 25 or bad driving record. My experience says avoid living inside ANY big American cities. The probability of crime against you is much higher than in the suburbs or in rural areas.

There are lots of Beemers (slang for BMW's) here. With a degree in auto repair look for a dealer to work at. Pick the area you want to live then get it's "zip code" ie mailing code. Put that into the dealer search function on the BMW web site and out will come a list of dealers and addresses. Send each of them a letter and resume. Good Luck.

Lastly, Danish ladies are VERY WELCOME here. The few that I know are smart, pleasant and very pleasing to the eye.

1300RX,I like Home Depot stocks for a long time,I have friends that work there and they always told me to buy the stock,I never did but wish I did now wasted my money on golf stocks and lost a few pennies.I believe for this year any company that deals with the internet will be good and I do not mean the HI-tech companies, now's the time to get into companies that deliever the products like UPS or Federal Express and so on also the TV market will boom again with the coming out of Flat screen TV and HDTV.Toshiba might be a good company to look into but that would be low in the list to buy,I still think that Dish Network will go even Higher also DSS systems. There's a company local in the valley that makes the chip for the HDTV Plasma Display that will auto correct it's scan rate to the incoming signal to the screen, the company is SAGA or something like that anyways look for them to take off.Do your homework and read everything and like I always said buy stocks on products that you would use or your friends or family use and like.May you have Hayabusa dreams and California living.Like Bear said Vista is a really good area.

ALASKA! there are miles & miles of roads you can ride for 4hrs to all day one way and never run out of road! (at the posted speed limit, of course)and we are the biggest state in the USA. Depending on where you live here you will have between 16hrs to 24hrs! of usable daylight to ride around in the summer. The tempuratures are mild: 60 to 70 degrees average in Anchorage which is the largest city in Alaska. Just a couple hundred thousand people live in the city. Beautiful scenery, sunny days abound and there is alot of wilderness if you like getting out in the middle of nowhere.
The pay for mechanics is the among the highest if not highest in the U.S.
Most if not all the places charge $60.00hr. on up for labor. Want a car painted? try a couple of grand. If you are in the auto or motorcycle repair business, it is a goldmine up here. I don't do either job by the way. I have known people that done both, and they are quite well-off. No state taxes or sales tax in anchorage!

Read and Study, watch Discovery Channel or ZDTV or any educational cable channel, read law books, work out with weights alot, clean and maintain my motorcycles and my wife's car and truck.Raise two dogs, three parrots, two fish tanks, maintain my house and upgrade our three PC systems in our house.OH ya help out the church that my wife goes to maintaining the yard, roof and overall cleaning.

Konrad, the company is new in the valley and is owned by a India person with backers from the valley,I'm not sure when it is going public and it will be a IPO sorry for the misinformation on the company but I was watching the HI-tech cable channel here while being on the internet and was over hearing on what the President of the company was talking about their product and he did mention that their's are the first one with that type of cicuit. He did mention the company name being Saga or Sauga or something like that and I will look up in the San Jose newspaper for hiring at that company.

I lived in San Luis Obispo for about three years. Coming from Maui, and moving to SLO (as the locals call it) was real cool. It's referred to as the central coast (of CA) Excellent riding conditions. LA was 4 hours away for law-abiding citizens, Santa Barbara was 2 (I frequently would do in 1). To the north, San Francisco in 4 hours as well. Great rides out towards Morro Bay, and up the coast on Highway 1 are a real blast. Hearts Castle is a fun place to ride to. I've been all over California, SLO was the best for me. Of course, I did move back to Maui, It's where I want to be. Taxes are kinda high in CA.

S@UER, a skilled BMW mechanic will have no trouble getting a job here, or in SLO, LA, San Fran, New Hampshire, Texas, etc. Good luck on making your choice.

*To become an American, you must buy a RV, (new law enacted by Clinton) then you live every where (except Maui) :)

Best advice for place to live: Central California (NOT in the valley though!) Everything south of San Francisco is pretty nice without being as hectic as LA. Lots of high paying jobs(this also means lots of people with lots of money to spend on a good mechanic). I could recommend parts of Colorado, but one of the aforementioned New England women lives there, and well....you understand. Here is my advice for stocks, which I have been studying for the last 3-4 months. Buy Biotech. I can recommend Celera(CRA) and Caliper(CALP). Also, you can get a huge amount of excellent information from FOOL.COM I have invested 15k this last week based on info from this site and so far I'm ahead by almost 7% in one week. Come visit, and see life in Silicon Valley :)

New Hampshire, great roads and really nice people. No sales tax, roads are in very good condition. Loudon Classic every year brings a very large group of motorcyclists together in the lakes region (huge party for a week). Roads are not flat (florida or desert western states)and full of curves. Please keep in mind that nobody from New England has posted here because we want you to believe what "slowhand" is preaching. A lot of those who were not proficient in their trades took off a long time ago from up here, some of the worst carpenters I have ever met are now running successful businesses in the south (Tenn.). I have found that a skilled person from New England is hired very quickly in any of these other states, maybe something to do with education and work ethic.

When you come to the states take a long trip and take a good look.

Everything is not all what it's cracked up to be in California.
Question) Where do all the people come from that are moving to Pheonix Az.?
Answer) Southern California because they can live better in a similar environment in metro Pheonix.

Lyle's words on Pennsylvania are well taken, it is very nice in the big state of Pennsylvania. It maybe a little behing the times there, but that is OK. You can actually leave your key in your car and no one will steal it (most everywhere).

Just don't go to Las Vegas first, you will get the wrong impression of America.

Thanks for your reply.
Well i kind of like the big citys like LA and San francisco they sound fun.
But of cause i have no clue until i get there!

Kaw,
See my post on Maine[still in New England,
I think].
You are right about New Hampshire.
My father in laws farm in S.Conway is
one of the most beautiful places on earth.
BUT!!! it is so damn cold [snow, ice etc]
that for riding you are only talking 5 or
6 mo. a year.Even my father-in-law,one
of the toughest old Yankees you ever
want to meet[including 2 wars with the 10th
Mtn.Div] gets real tired of the cold.
all the best
