Moving to America.

Konrad, you are an honest man. Nothing wrong with New England if you enjoy freezing weather for 5 or 6 months, steaming heat and humidity for 2 or 3 months and maybe 3 months of great riding weather. If you are into snowmobiles, it would work fine. I never found the winters to be too extreme, just too long. I saw at least some snow in the months from October through May, and in my personal opinion that's not motorcycle friendly.
If job or family dictate that N.E. is where you have to be, then OK, but that's not the case with Sauer, nor with me. I did a few hours riding my Busa comfortably in the mountains yesterday. Wonder what our friend in New Hampshire was doing?
Sauer, LA is a happening place, but I couldn't live there for a lot of reasons. Basically it just has too much of everything, except maybe tranquility. To many people, Southern Calif. consists only of LA, and that's not even remotely true.
It's true that both Phoenix and Vegas get a lot of LA transplants. So what? It's still growing tremendously, unfortunately.
As an aside, LA is the motorcycle aftermarket center of the universe. When nothing else is happening, just browsing can be fun. You don't need to live in LA to get the benefits. Anything less than a day's ride is OK.

Sauer, Insinu8's post on Central Calif. has some merit, although I personally think Silicon Valley is not Central but Northern Calif., and it suffers from some of the same problems as LA without quite as good a climate.
Clement Salvadore writes for Rider magazine and lives near Atascadero, which is near San Luis Obispo. He claims that his area of the Central Calif. coast is the best place in the world for a base from which to travel on bikes. He rides all over the world. He appreciates the weather, lots of twisty roads, great scenery, and lack of congestion.
Like I said, you get a lot of opinions, and they are all valid for the person expressing them. If Sauer can find just one area that works for him, I'll be happy. Even if it's New England.8=)

Sauer, having lived within 75 miles of San Francisco, off and on, for 40+ years, I assure you that the SOCAL climate is much more motorcycle friendly. In addition, the traffic and congestion in the immediate San Francisco-San Jose area is worse than any part of Calif. except LA.

In that case, be sure to check out the area from Los Gatos to Monterey, South of San Francisco, and the Marin County cities North of the Golden Gate. If you are near San Jose on a Sunday, see if Cisco can point you towards or take you to Alice's Restaurant.

Thanks alot guys.
Why is the climate in Northen Cal. not as good as in central Cal.??
I Looked at Rentnet.com and the apartments in Northen Cal is almost the same prises as in Denmark.
And what's RV ???

Will gladly take any members to Alice and also the local bike hang outs and bike shops that I know of in the valley or outside the valley.Tons of dealers Good and Bad,Honda's Suzuki,Yamaha,Duc's,Harleys,Custom bikes, and maybe Corbins.Show all the bike riding areas and places to avoid.See Ya

That would be nice.
How is the wether in San Jose right now??

There is another thing i was thinking about,
Earthquakes..have you experienced one?? How often are they. In Denmark there has never been a earthquake.Actually the worst weather in Denmark is a storm, we dont have tornados or hurricanes. Is these things that i should fear???

Weather in San Jose right now is low 40's at night,60's during the day.Rain weather should be here soon, still good bike riding weather if you carry your rain gear just in case.Everyone here has a cold or flu bug right now so I try to avoid eating at Denny's,BurgerKing, etc or touching doors at the stores. As far as earth quake I've been thru a few in California and I'm use to the earth quakes since I lived and grew up in Hawaii. No big thing except stay away from glass doors and glass buildings or High rise building and overpass or underpass or the Bay Bridge.Never know when these items will let loose and fall during a earth quake. What is your job skills if you get here? That way you'll want to know and live in an area that is close to work.

S@uer,
Check cost of living out in each city before making your decision.

http://verticals.yahoo.com/cities/

Lets take Some of the cities mentioned above. Austin, TX vs. LA
An average 2,000 sq ft house in Austin is $180,000. In LA its $264,000!
Plus you dont have to live with all the LA FREAKS.

I mean freaks in the nicest way for all you LA Busa guys :-)
