My Busa Overhaul

Ass.... I need that gear lol! Also, Bank of America is REFUSING to send money to the guy I got my stuff from until they "authenticate" that I'M sending it. Now, THEY called ME. Doesn't that mean that I AM who I SAY I AM?

I hate BoA.

Pics of the swingarm coming in ten minutes!!

Here is the first coating of the swingarm. Once I get the bearings in, Its going. Stupid excited!

Ok so is it done yet?

Oh no, i have the oil pump gear still, opps!

The swing arm is looking good .... I'm guessing that you will be leaving it black huh ... no expensive chrome jobs ?

LOL Nah, it was the silver one that I transformed into my Rattlecan Blackness. Duplicolor makes great paint, just wish it weren't $8 a can. The new bearing kit should be here next week (thanks to a gift from my wif) and Friday I'll be able to get the last of the paint needed for it. Once its done being painted I'm gonna throw it back on. I cant WAIT to get her off the ceiling and back on solid ground!

Quick dumb question, John you may be able to answer, Can I put the fairings on Without the motor in? I'm pretty sure I can but just want to make sure first. I really don't think the motor needs to be in it but it doesn't hurt to ask.

So, I'm sick.

Dumb question for my guru's out there: I have the big swingarm bearings out. How in the hell do I get the small ones out? I have all four replacement bearings so I'm not trying to salvage anything. Do the push straight through?

GixerHP and Ozzybusa, check your PM's

Yah Yah, replied! !
I just drove 9 hours to get home!

Ok ya'll. I'm missing a part. I've looked everywhere and had a bag made for it but I guess it never went in. I know Suzuki engineering wouldn't have built it if it wasn't needed BUT if I don't ABSOLUTELY need it PLEASE let me know.

Its the plate on the swingarm where the axle goes through.

Now, its only $6 for the part but if its not necessary, I don't wanna buy it.

Advice please!

Scratch that. Found the parts. Swingarm installed. Once the caliper is done drying I'll throw everything back together. Pics to follow

NOT DONE YET! This is how she sits right now till I get new brake pads and the brake components are done drying as well as a chain and sprockets kit. :banghead: SO MUCH LEFT TO DO!

Looking really good!!

It's almost back on 2 wheels but I want an update on the engine.....

What's happening with the building of the engine???

Still waiting on the engine to be finished up at M/T performance. I don't know if I mentioned or listed them in this thread but here is my opinion:

1st off, Mark at M/T performance had been genuine and honest with everything and is very knowledgable in his field. I'm very happy that I sent him the parts because he isn't trying to squeeze the change out of me. He calls me and asks me about this and that and keeps me updated on what's going on. He is great people and I'm glad he's doing the work.

The engine is still in TN with Mark at the moment. We're waiting on the new crank to come in and the block to come back. Also, the transmission is being up and down cut and the cams are being welded and ground.

I should have the motor back in a couple of weeks and although the pics I posted on here with the swingarm were bare minimum, the engine build will be just like I did with the teardown EXCEPT, I might make a video too.

I promise to keep ya'll updated with everything!

I took off the old hard line/rubber line clutch line. Went to put on the new line (steel braided HEL line) but how can I secure it/route it so it will work and stay out of the way? I'll fab up a couple of small anchor points if I have to. Just looking for some good suggestions on this.

Really? No suggestions on line placement? I'm not the only one here changing the clutch line, am I?

Just read every post........ I see the date is now current...keep us up to date...Watta a project...

Thanks man. I'm trying to remember to take pics of everything I do but when I get B's deep in something, I just forget. Then I'm like DAMNIT! More coming though. The calipers are drying, then the new pads and sprocket when I can afford it, etc. More to come

Well, nothing really. Its just that the part that slips under the tank is a mitted metal piece where the steel braided line is just that, steel braided line all the way. I don't want to cut it or something when the tank goes on it

A lot of people do this, so I'd be curious. From memory I'd think there would be plenty of room.
