I'm not an Obama fan. I'm not a Romney fan. I hate what political threads do to our members here. But I heard this, and thought of you guys instantly.

PLEASE just answer the task at hand. NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS..

Without using the word "Obama" please explain why you like Mitt Romney and want him to be your president...

Romney is a sucessful businessman and should have a real good understanding of our manufacturing has left the USA and will hopefully change what needs to be changed to make our country strong again. Our government is totally out of control and needs to be treated like any company that is not making a profit.

And besides that....Michelle's husband is an incompetant idiot.

Without using the word and without declaring that he was my first choice, I believe the current direction the country is heading is wrong. I think while it does take a while to get a ship back on course we do not seem to have any significant course corrections with regard to jobs, economy and foreign policy and certainly 4yrs is enough time to at least get things turned and moving, I suggest far more than what has been done. I think Romney, while not necessarily my first choice or best choice represents things that I more closely associate to my core beliefs and feelings. I think folks demonize him for being a rich capitalist but that's what this country was founded on and its how we have evolved to be one of the most powerful and best countries in the world. The more socialist approach taken by the current administration, IMHO does not work and continues to inspire, encourage and foster the "lazy fat American" view many of the civilized countries around the world hold of our citizens. So love me or hate me, agree to disagree if you must that's my 2c

Given the two options and the current greatest RISK to the USA (the economy), I will ALWAYS side with a successful business man in the QB spot over a successful community organizer.

how was that?

All three responses were still "comparing" the two. I want an actual reason for him on his own, despite the state of the country currently..

I had my reasons for him directly inside of my comparative statements

WTF?! What's the point of electing someone if not for the state of the country currently? Because he has a great Jump Shot?! ???

You are not getting the point obviously. No biggie. I'm looking for actual reasons to support Romney and can't come up with ANY except that he "could" be better than Obama.. If that's the case, I'm not interested and will still be "wasting" my vote as many say by voting for Ron Paul.

So his history of financial success both in the private sector and in the political/gov't sector would not be a major driving factor? I get the feeling there is no such thing as a 'right' answer to you?

Reality is, no, I cannot see the future to say he is better. I can say based on his personal and business history, he has more tools in his bag to lead the country out of the situation we are in. I'm sorry man, I wish I had the magic 8-ball...

I believe the conservative agenda has the best chance of fixing runaway spending and getting our fiscal house in better order. The US is the only country (not even China) that can lead the world out of this recession - but to do that we have to fix our own house FIRST - which is going to require some TOUGH spending choices (and eventually revenue/tax choices too). Gov Romney isn't here to win a popularity contest (but some voters make it that) or to make us FEEL GOOD; he's there to do a JOB and I think he's got enough business experience to understand what small business needs to expand and create the OPPORTUNITY rather than the DEPENDENCY to get it done: Some regulatory stability, A reasonable tax code that doesn't immediately penalize medium and small businesses, and some clear direction. Businesses are holding onto a lot of cash right now, just because of the uncertainty and saving for what they fear is a big government induced revenue-collection effort (look at Obamacare as an example of a nightmare). There has been too much change in the name of social progression at the expense of solid business decision-making. Romney gets that, but not the other guy and his party.

If we were voting for financial success why didn't we keep Trump in the running? Ross Perot anyone? I disregarded your original post about him being financially successful because it was comparing him to Obama. I don't want to compare, I want to know what he did on his own whether it be the same or different from Obama.

I wasn't comparing his financial success to that of Obama. Read what i wrote. Their characters bring forward different skill-sets. Romney is NOT a community leader, haha. Quite the opposite really. But he has proven to understand the financial system and how to manipulate it for success (one could argue cynically on that one if you want).

I think you need to come to the realization that it IS a comparison of the two. You have every right to vote Ron Paul, Trump, or Daffy Duck for that matter. The reality is only one of the two will be elected Romney/Obama. So you have to, at some rate, compare and pick who you think has the best chance of being the most successful over the next 4 years. Does that make any sense?

Trump has been bankrupt about 5 times and stuck plenty of people - he lives large and does NOT define what most business people would call successful or want to emulate. He was not electable to start with and I can't stand him. Not the question at hand anyway.

Obamacare is no-doubt a noble cause. But a Buinessman would understand that you can go broke chasing noble causes. I'd like to have a nice office and a nice company owned car to drive too, but it would either mean accepting too much risk (debt) and in the long run that attitude would bankrupty my company (sound familiar?) Solyndra is a good example of a noble cause run amok, especially when greed, avarice, and corruption is thrown into the mix.

its pretty simple. he is an extremely successful business man. this country is in a financial mess right now!

im sure there are times when we need a President to do many things but right now we need one that knows finances period vs. entitlement programs for those that contribute NOTHING to our economy.... sure, we need someone who is some what diplomatic (and that would NOT be Trump) but what we really need is someone who can run a very large business right now and that business is our Country.

and we also need a President that's not gonna bow to the Saudi Arabian King. that just makes me sick to my stomach knowing the 9/11 terroists were all from Suadi Arabia.

I'll bet Romney doesnt bow to him! you guys do realize that ALL the 9/11 Terroists were from Saudi Arabia. Yea, ALL (15) of them and this jack-ass is gonna bow to their President? really? Obama makes my stomach turn these days!:banghead: he is anything but a leader.

Because he is the Republican option. We are nothing but stoopid :stoopid: sheep to be so giddy about government takeovers of our lives. We need to get business friendly, and unleash some business cash, and reinstate the consumer confidence demand cycle. Quick, before it is too late. We do not need the next "Rockefellers & DuPonts" hailing from offshore.

he is a successful businessman .... successful at sending work outside the US. successful at using loopholes and hiding income outside of our financial system. he is pro gun. he is not pro entitlement. he is not my choice....but i am TIRED of a country that offers excuses and handouts. we are NOT the worlds punching bag. bring them home...close the borders... free trade means they pay the same import taxes to us as we pay to them!! illegals are exactly that ILLEGAL. we must take care of our own before we offer to "assist" anyone else...especially when they openly DO NOT WANT OUR HELP.

I like how so many folks still think that the president is in charge:laugh:
He's a puppet, regardless of who he is.
It is public knowledge that there are 6 levels of security clearance above his head too(search for yourself); I wonder why:whistle:
