Needing to vent - Lockdown again (apologies to all)

All these Virologists sporting their PhDs have derailed your thread off the tracks and into a ravine...

I feel for you and your countrymen who are going through this and hope it will soon come to a safe, efficient conclusion so you can get back to normal life....

Your government (and many others) most likely overreacted but imagine if they did nothing and the death rate went through the roof...what would people be saying then I wonder....

Nearly everyone I talk to has basically given up the will to live at the moment.
The govt seems to have no alternate scripts to the playbook.

Private gatherings are not permitted in the home. Public gatherings are not allowed. Also, all playgrounds, skateparks and outside gym equipment are closed.

Masks outside? Are you allowed to cut a hole in the mask to smoke and drink through a straw? You're supposed to exercise outside with a mask on? That's insane!

Why the curfew? There's more Corona out when the sun's down?

This is SO different from where I live. New cases are up but nothing like last November. Life has returned pretty much to normal for some time. More than half of the people have had at least one dose of the vaccine and I don't see anyone wearing a mask.

So football started and we are having our second game this coming weekend well the football team just released a statement you need to be fully vaccinated with proof or negative covid test to enter the games starting sept 15 which I find odd why would you release this before this upcoming game that sold out? If covid is so scary and to save people why not implement it now for this game?

Second city of regina need full vaccine proof by sept 15 or you are fired from working with the city of Regina, you also have to be fully vaccinated and mask to enter their buildings, even vaccinated works still need to be tested daily(so voting polls, pools, hockey rinks etc)

Third Saskatchewan released another stating business can demand proof of vaccinations at entrance and they will help enforce it

Fourth we hit our vaccine goals by alot so why these restrictions?

Fifth WHY ARE WE STILL NOT TESTING FOR ANTIBODIES IN CANADA WHEN ITS PROVEN TO BE MORE PROTECTIVE TO THE DELTA VARIANT THAN SOMEONE FULLY VACCINATED WITH PFIZER!!!!!

One of the problems is people aren't listening to these restrictions...they can do whatever, whenever they want...that is the attitude that keeps this pandemic going...

Lots of anti-vaxxers out there interacting with people at house parties which helps spread it around...

Don't know what the answer is and am sure glad I'm not the one in the government making those decisions.

For the most part, people are sick and tired of the pandemic measures and have just basically given up...hopefully Covid 19 and it's variants don't take off as a result.

The Victorian premier Mr Daniel Andrews did not give us any good news today It looks like we will be in some kind of lockdown for the foreseeable future They are speculating that we should be free in NOVEMBER maybe :banghead: :thumbsup:

So you have an issue with people that don’t ‘buy into’ this poop but you also have an issue with the guys that tell you to get ‘vaccinated’ and don’t have confidence in their ‘herd immunity’ idea?

You are asking me a hypothetical question for the sole purpose of tripping me up on my ideology and it isn't going to work...I didn't exactly fall off the potato truck last night.

We aren't living in a fairy tale where the world can all come together and get 100% of everyone vaccinated...I'm a realist and know for 100% fact this could never happen.

There are just so many variables the answer to your question is impossible.
