New busa

OK here is 1 thing, Busa = heavy, 750 modded to hell = light. if you sort of got on your bike and he Nailed his from a 5-10mph roll on he's going to stay with you for " a few seconds" both Nail bikes you own him, might hang with you for a litle bit, but once you hit 150mph range you'll walk him like no ones business.

hey guys,i just got a 2004 busa stock its my 7'th bike.my last bike was a 99 cbr600f4,when i first rode the busa i was like ok fast but nothing mind blowing,i almost creid {really}i love it and everthing the best bike i ever owned it's just that people were like becareful it really fast and i was a little dissapointed thats all {i only weigh 152 lbs.}. anyway the reason why i'm really really pissed is todat was out riding and a guy on a older gixxer 750 and me start to race from a slow roll of 5-10 mph,he freaking keep up with me side by side the whole time.WHAT GIVES.he had a pipe is all i saw old ugly bike really looked in bad shape too,i don't know what else he had on it if anything to embarrsed to ask, granted we were on a small highway with cars but i still got on it pretty good maybe 9000 rpm for a couple of gears up t0 maybe 115 but then ran out of room. all im saying is that i thought this bike was a god,and i coundn't walk and older 750..WHAT GIVES
First question....what elevation are you at? When I first got my Busa I was so exicited I forgot that I was a mile up in elevation and losing 27-30 hp. So mine wasn't quite what I was expecting either. Buuuut....I've walked away from everything I've come across up here. And all my buddies whine about the elevation robbong their power as well. And even up here once you get over 100mph this thing gets freaky fast.
I also have a bud with a HEAVILY modified 750....cams, piped, geared ect ect ect, and its not even close. I've been riding 27 years tho so maybe your riding skills aren't up to snuff.....or maybe your fishing? I imagine your next post will be about how you traded your Busa in on a ZX-14 and now your a street god

Know what I mean?
PS-If you don't know your bike well enough to use your reflexes and experience to keep the rpms where they need to be under all roll on situations alot of bikes are gonna give you fits...it really is as much rider as bike. But if you've been riding 10 years you'd know that right?

So practice on that new Busa some more......or take your pole and bait elsewhere

Only to 115mph!!! A 750 will do that, but I'm willing to bet that he was high in the rpm range when he got there. You should have downshifted and opened her up. Don't worry about it dude. Don't be disappointed, just twist that throttle.

you "just" got the bike....aren't really familiar with it...and you just rolled on with a bike that you are taking at face value?
7 bikes owned or not...that's a rookie mistake.

this old 91 gixxer 750 wouldn't look too impressive to most...especially if the deacals were removed.
but you wouldn't guess that it had 152 RWHP..... there was a worked 1100 motor under those fairings.

I'd be interested to see how he feels after he learns to ride the bike!

WOW you guys are right i wasn't even going that fast. after i you guys said i was upset so i took a ride on the local highway to really open her up,holy sh@t i thought i was going fast this whole time on the busa and i found [once i had enough room to look down at the dials]and i was always shifting at around 7500 rpms and i thought i was flying because it was at the same power as my old 600 full balls out well not to sound like a wimp i got her up to 10000 rpm in third gear and was scared shitless and shut her down.man was i wrong, never again well i cry about a 750.sorry men.by the way i left a topic in engine mods about getting a new exhaut, can u guys go their and check it out under full exhaut? no one has answered me yet and you guys are friggin good. thanks

uhmmm..1 question...3 comments..

Question: Exactly how does one take a stock busa to near redline in a couple gears and wind up only doing 115?

Comment1: Ya got the "and i coundn't walk and older 750." part correct.

Comment2: I got pulled slightly (maybe a bike length or two in a 8-10 second roll) by an R1 out on I95 a few weeks back..but he kicked down a couple gears where i just rolled on in 6th.

Comment3: The stock busa is geared reeeeal tall and weighs 500+lbs...starting out from the speeds you describe?..there's quite a few bikes out there that will jump start a busa...but lay into it and stay into it?..and there's damn few that will hang with a busa..assuming of course that the event is more than just telephone pole too telephone pole racing.

I have a few prime freeway strips near my place here in Milwaukee if they wanna make the trip...n since im a nice guy i'll even pay for their bus ticket back home, since they wont have any wheels left.

(dont think im braggn-but i know a 8-sec 1K bike, n he's only geared for the quarter-tops out at 180-i got another 15mph on his bike n i'm not that far behind in the 1/4)

I raced a gsxr 1000 on the open road about a week ago. He went sailing past me as exited the on ramp.

Full throttled it and shift at 10,000 and I caught him at 150mph and went sailing passed him.

The next day I went out and bought an 06 gsxr 1000. Its fast and might get my busa early but the busa just keeps pulling.

I'm an old guy on a gsxr and busa and I hate to lose

open that mother up!

i knew the moment i read this post something was very wrong,if 10 k in 3rd has you nervous,i don't think there is any need for mods just yet,a little southwest of you there are some great lightly traveled roads, that will let you see just what your bike is made of,atco is also close by,and is a great (and safe)way to tell how well your bike is running

you are either a troll or you dont know how to ride a motorcycle..

In any case I think the Busa is not right for you and you should sell it.

Probably best for you and the Busa....

+1..

I have a stock 05 and beat a modded out 2005 GSXR1000.. I had to do it.. The rider doubted the Busa's potential.... I just had to show him that Papa Busa can still Bring it

Is this real!!!
Come on dude; I watched GMBusa hit his busa today. I was completly impressed he got out of dodge with the quickness... I hit shortly after Paul but Paul was G O N E!!! It's the rider dude. The bike will get moving and get moving very fast!!!

So dude, everyone is singing the same tune here. I've had my '04 since brand new. People have read my squid story - and again - I apologize to my friends here - but man - 5 bikes pulled up on me on open freeway a few years ago. Each tried me one by one. (no flaming - I already took the hit 2 years ago for this guys.)

I had the exact opposite experience you had. And their bikes were modded. No bragging - no bologna - there was no competition. I left those guys so far in my mirror so fast - I couldn't believe I actually owned a bike that fast. I couldn't believe it. (I got in trouble with wifey over that and my buds on the board here.)

But your story - 1 of two problems; either you didn't open it up, or you're trollin. I don't care if you are a bad rider. You twist the throttle to the stops on a busa and shift at 10k rpm - you're at light speed. At wide open 10k shifts on the busa - you have pucker factor. 11k rpm's - even more...

No offense - I'm not buyin this story. Something's wrong.

This guy forget to mention the most important detail of all...

10 years, 7 bikes, AND ONLY 5K MILES BETWEEN THEM.
