New busa

This guy forget to mention the most important detail of all...

10 years, 7 bikes, AND ONLY 5K MILES BETWEEN THEM.

One day Cruising along at around 75 - 80 mph with some others... they got a little couragous and wanted to take a run... they all dropped down to 2nd and I went down to 1st... hit the throttle... hit 90 rev limiter, shifted... 10K shifted... shifted... in fourth gear and I can't find the other riders anymore...
Learn to let the beast breathe and open her up.. she loves when you twist to the stops and let her scream... what a ride!!!

I would have to say the same as the previous peeps. It sounds as though you don't have the shifting correct and the busa will easily get up to speed quick. Did I say 'quick' I meant d@mn fast!! But anyway, with the amount of torque on the bike and rwhp that 750 should not have been in your rear view at all. Your horse is ready at all times to leave other bikes in your exhaust. Don't be scared and open the throttle up, it will feel like someone is trying to pull you off the bike and then you will be a true believer. Most of all ride safe!!

Just my .02

Holla!!!!

Whats that got to do with anything... i used to ride a CBR 600...

This thread has gone from not so nice finger pointing saying your not riding the bike right to all out flaming the guy... ease up and let it die already...

My advice:
1) Buy rubber cement...when your tailbone hits the hump, it hurts....glue your pants to the seat
2) Don't try to grab the clutch at full throttle....your hand will just fly off.
3) Yes, the G-forces do make you look younger...they smooth out all the wrinkles.
4) Be very careful...a Busa does accelerate faster than the speed of thought. You will end up laying on the road wondering "what the heck did I rear-end" if you aren't careful.

I agree with the rest of the guys when they say, you just don't know your bike yet. I personally wasn't giving mine enough throttle and never really took her above 7-8k RPM because all my past bikes didn't have power above those RPM's. I also lost races to other bikes, and even cars. I was baffled. The first time I gave her everything was at a forum members suggestion ... holy chit! My (up til then) monster turned into something I'm afraid to ever see again. (especially on public roads) What speed and acceleration I thought I had seen up till then was nothing! It was like somone lit a rocket under my a$$.

I would suggest taking it to a local qarter mile drag strip and really giver her everything she's got. Red line her.... if you can. You'll change your mind. And then when youre scared to ride it, sell it to me bacause my wife wants one.

I have an 06 Stock busa with the exception of Yosh boltons. Before I had a Ninja 750 that was modded. It had 120 hp at the rear wheels. My busa would eat that thing all day long in stock form.

But remember, there are guys out there that do crazy shi* to these bikes. Turbos, nitrous etc. I have been known to tell people I have a slant six in my nitrous injected 440 Dodge Dart. I can only do that when it is not running.)

There is always going to be someone faster no matter what they ride. Key is to ride longer and safer than anyone else!

Good Luck with those pesty 750's in the future.

Umm, practice, practice, practice... when you get to the point of shifting just a hair before the limiter bounce without looking down at the tach, leaning down on the tank as far as ya can (to prevent the front from going up), while rolling on the throttle just to the point of ALMOST lifting up the front tire, then you will know what the HAYABUSA is all about

Keep at it young Jedi, and may the force be with you

OK I want to run some of you guys or know what you have for mods.... I have run my buddies 1mm over 1100 with port work jet kit pipe etc and he can stay right beside me to 160 MPH or his rev limiter. I have run R1's GSXR1K's and they too can stay with me some of them beating me to 160-170 range but after 2 or 3 roll ons it is real close I will win one they will win one proving the driver does count for some. I had a Kawi626 run me and stay beside me to about 80 then I started pulling him. So tell me (and I am not trolling been on this board for some time) Do I need to change the stock gears cause that and my rider weight is what I blamed it on??? I have stock gears on the Busa considered going down one my buddy on the modded 1100 only pulls 160 or so he is down 1 in front and up 2 in rear. I told him if his bike was geared for 200 MPH he wouldnt fair so well. Plus I am 6 foot 4 tall 260 pounds thats some extra weight over litre bike riders. Considering if you can search back far enough (I have had the Busa for 4 years and 25,000 Miles) I said the same thing about the Busa when I looked at it I heard 160 RWHP and expected wheelies in 3 gears and rip your hands off the handle bar speed. MY 1100 ran 6.6 in the 1/8th mile and would wheelie in second no problem. Busa in stock trim 7.1 best time in 1/8th mile and will wiggle the bars but no wheelie in second. I thought gearing was the biggest killer. Dont be so hard on the guy unless he really is a troll cause I felt the same thing. The other thing I noticed when I first got the bike was that it was so quiet and vibe free you didnt realize how fast you really where going...

thank u yes the busa is fast but these idots think they can pull away from anything.thay most be lying or going against people who cant race.by the way i have a 2004 stock busa, and i love it but lets face it the other bikes have caught up guys.

Dont beg for mercy either, that just doent go over well. Dont down talk a Busa because a Busa is king.

You said it TSgt... How's San Angelo these days anyway?
Well, Sheppard isnt in San Angelo.. its in the middle of nowhere north Texas in Wichita Falls! It's hot.... and its hot! With humidity too! Lots of flat open road here to open the busa up though! Alls well, thanks for asking!

Weight is a big factor, right?. I would think that adding another 80lbs to that would offset your Hp dramatically with the stock gearing.

I'm about 185 on my bike and I have never had a bike stay even close to me. But - I have never raced a new ZX10R, GSXR1000, or R1. (Meaning - no 05 or 06 bikes.) I have raced a variety of 03 and 04 bikes though. Friends of mine were cracking up at how fast the busa left them.

Hello...It has a while since my last post. As we know the busa's throttle takes a bit more twist to obtain WOT. The fellow may have trouble getting it there. I personally didn't care for the amount of travel so I modified mine into a progressive throttle. A word of warning this is a no BS approach and unless you are very good with throttle input control and an experienced rider don't even consider this mod. You will end up in a world hurt! I marked on the "wheel" half throttle and put a layer of hard silicone in the valley. I built the bead up until I achieved the desired amount of travel and progression desired. You can customize to your own taste and let me tell…when you get it personally tailored. You can snap that throttle open faster then a blink of an eye. I had a few people jaws drop after that mod and commented how “that thing just explodedâ€￾. BTW- First gear was interesting to say at the least but I could feel where the progression began and work from there. Enjoy until next time and hello to everone who is left from a while back. Like I said this is a NO BS mod and you better have your act together.
