New Sliders Installed!!!

I'll start a poll to see how much people would be willing to buy them for. They are currently going for 204.52 + shipping.

looks good, but they'd have to be a bit cheaper before I'd probably consider buying..... excellent pics though

Thanks for the compliments everybody.

I do agree the price is steep but when you consider the time it takes to hand fab a low production kit like that it doesn't seem quite so bad.

I did feel like a guinea pig ordering it...I kept thinking that I may receive some cheesy "made in China" assembly line junk that didn't fit up well or required drilling into the frame and would collapse under the slightest impact.

Personally I feel I got my $$$ worth. Solid fit that went together like it was made at the factory and I don't feel they skimped anywhere to save a few bucks.

If they save the bike once in a kick stand tip over they've paid off for themselves many times over.

Standard sliders are fine but I simply do not want holes in my fairings...just my personal choice

There is also the chance of a slight slip up resulting in something that will nag you everytime you look at your bike or cost you $500 for a replacement panel.

Hopefully Bike Design will drop the price quite a bit for a bulk buy. Wish I could say how they hold up in a crash but I'm not about to test that one for you guys

I love the idea of no cutting, but they look a little low to do a good job. I think that if you were to just let the bike drop on its side, that it mighthit the slider and roll over and smash up your windscreen and tail section. I can't tell too well from the pictures, but it looks like the bike would rollover more on its side with those sliders so low. What do you think Turbo?

That's exactly what I was thinking....Really nice looking product and convenient as hell to install....but doesn't look like it would balance the load on a drop. Just my .02!

Guys, find a pic of a Busa with a regular slider installed and note that it's well under and in front of the big fairing bolt.  The Bike Design IS lower but not by much.

I believe they are up high enough towards the engine head that it would take one heck of a slam for them to act as a fulcrum.  In that bad of an accident I don't think these or a standard set are going to help much at saving the bike.

Here's a pic of them putting a set to the test:

It looks like a Busa tank. Can anyone confirm what bike that is?

Is that pic of a typical slider or the one you've got? Can't tell....

Nevermind....If I would just read what you wrote I would know....Sorry:p I still think they're are an awesome idea..a great alternative to cutting your plastics and good looking too!

Now thats the kinda stuff I like to see> PIcs of the product being put to the test.

Thanks for your 2 cents on my comment - Count me in. I'll take a set.

where do I sign?

If this goes anywhere...I'm in....otherwise keep me posted so I can order a set direct.

Not sure we will move forward on this because of the cost involved. The dealer wants quite a bit and I'm not sure we have enough interest. I'll check out the poll and how much people will pay and take it from there. If anyone REALLY wants one and hasn't already contacted me, now would be the time.

Aight where are the fabricators on this site that can hook a bra up?

I like them...we all like them....even though I already did the cut myself too ;-( I think they will actually be better protection due to the crossbar.

So I am going to get together with my bud that has virtually a complete fab shop in his huge garage...welders, mill, lathe, etc....and see if we can come up with a homemade version that may even turn out better (due to my anal attitude...good in cases like this :-). If we can do it for say....$100 or so, would there be enough interest then ?
