Passenger Speed

I don't "feel" speed like i do acceleration.... sure, you can see it, you can't feel it in your bones tho....

I don't see how you look at it like that. You can't have one without the other. Some people just have bigger balls on do it longer than others. Ya, it can be dangerous, but that is everyone's own personal decision.

140ish and it was tap when you want to slow down (though I wouldn't take it much faster then that.

though afterwards I did wounder if 200+ was even possible, due to wind resistance might remove the passenger. though i dont recommend even letting your passenger to tell you to top out with them on

My wife waves by to me in the drive way and thats how we both like it. I cant be interesting if I never leave.

My #3 daughter 17 yrs old and I have been over 130 She loves to go fast . she wants her own bike Maybe someday . #1 best passenger of my 3 . I forget she even back their at times

My current co-pilot has made it to 150 on two occasions....and both times, she was keen for MORE!!! Unfortunately, we ran outta straight line to go any faster.....and ever since, she has been on the lookout for somewhere to top that!
Having a pillion that occasionally seems crazier/braver than myself has made for some extremely interesting rides!!! :woot:

120 on a harley (didn't know they went that fast, lol), and maybe 100-120 on the busa. i don't tend to speed with my wife on the back. but the double tap to her thigh means hold the F*** on, and she knows this. usually a tap from her will bring me back to double digits.

about 120 with wife, 100 with daughter, the rule is to tap me on the side to slow down and stop. mostly just cruise at posted speeds. i prefer acceleration to speed.

I've hit 155 w/ one of my best friends, she loved it and wants to go faster, but I agree with Jeremy in some respects, their life is in your hands, even if they don't understand the danger as well as you.
Top speed is great, but the acceleration is whats so addictive to me...

145 got home and she gave me that look after we got off." I see why you love the bike now." Then she walked inside. I was expecting to get whooped

it all depends on the skill of the passenger. i wouldnt go 100 with any newbie. my wife is an excellent passenger and knows how to ride well as i have taught her. i feel plenty safe at 100 with her.

What I'd like to know is how many of you speed demons who carry passengers past the triple digit marker does so with the passenger wearing jeans?

Don't stumble and stutter, come on fess up! :dunno:

Once you've been a "true" by gps 180+ you'll feel it through your bones, and right into your soul  I love running through the gears wide open till I hit 180 or so on my "private" desert highways.....so I guess I love acceleration AND high speeds. The guy that the movie The Worlds Fastest Indian was based on had a saying....."you live more in 5 minutes at 150 then most men live in a lifetime". Bikes are faster now, and for me the speed is alittle higher, but the saying still applies perfectly :beerchug:
BTW I've still never topped my bike out, so I know there's more extreme speed freaks than me

i've been up to 130 with the wife on back. she's more of a speed junkie than me, but on the other hand she's not to big on the curves.
