PDX GSX1300R

If you recall their previous ride on board BMW GS1200s, each of them suffered from broken rear shock mounts....

Oh yeah...

Something about waaay overloading I would say. I always liked the GS series. My buddy "Motozilla" created a super knarly conventional fork set up for his back in the day. The guy was a legend...

Good to know there are riders around PDX. I am around the Troutdale area, getting my first busa ready for the season. Got a new used full yoshi exhaust now I need to delete pair valve and get ecu flashed. Burn off old tires, get new ones, etc.

National and Regional News

Washington D.C. — Congress and state legislatures nationwide are increasingly concerned by efforts to limit the sale of gas-powered vehicles. In 2022, California adopted a measure to require zero tailpipe emissions on new cars by 2035
. Following the California model, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Washington aim to prohibit the sale of gas-powered vehicles in the future.

My understanding is that my own Washington state will be requiring California emissions compliance on new vehicles soon.

How soon are you going riding in the rain, snow, and freezing temperatures?
You know, for the official org test report,
we are like a group of bickering motorcycle magazine editors here anyway
lol

Planning on overnight in central Oregon in a few weeks. Come what may. I’ll stay in the lower elevations and hope for good weather.

I’ve been reading my ghost town books. Some are 40 to 50 years old, so a lot can change. I’ve found a couple of places to check out.

Looking at a Coretech tail bag to round out my kit. Good price. Could put it on the rear seat or luggage rack.

Quick loop following the Washougal River. Found a new pioneer cemetary. Rode in and out of rain a few times. Initial impression of the new gloves is that they are biased more toward "dry" than "warm" (they are not a heavyweight glove). Bike is a mess. Rear brakes are terrible.
