I’ve been through this area on the Hayabusa previously, but this weekend we did a deeper dive in the Dufur, OR area. To prepare I poured over my old “ghost town” books and topo maps. Did a bunch of Googling and hoped for good weather. In the scheme of things, America is a new country, but I still relish the sense of continuity, and connectedness to my fellow man, when I visit these pioneer sites. People that, only a few generations ago, came from the corners of the globe to Oregon chasing their dreams.

What mileage do you get with your coupe? In-line six right?

So many young and very young.

Yes, she’s the small 2.5 in-line six. Not fast, but at least she’s slow. The highly accurate vacuum / MPG gauge typically sits in the upper 20’s on the highway. Possibly the smoothest engine I have ever had. Odd nobody has offered an in-line six in a motorcycle…

They have only they’re mounted sideways! Honda’s CBX and the BMW K1600.
