When 5 or 6 states vote tallies flip during the early hours of the morning and many situations present themselves in the form of pictures and complaints of foul play are heard... then... its time to pause and sort it all out.

I don't know what Trump had to do with low interest rates.
What I have come to believe after watching the mortgage industry boom under artificially low interest rates is that it has pushed home prices to ridiculous levels. The housing business in general pushes the economy in many ways with services and durable goods that support those homes.
The artificial low rates helped to cause a housing bubble in my opinion... again... and the redistribution of equity and wealth by companies such as Black Rock whom has been rumored to have ear marked 30 billion dollars to scoop up cheap distressed properties when a housing crash occurs. Other big players like Fidelity are also waiting for the carnage to repeat like it did in 2008 so they can benefit off the mis guided powers that be that set policy and interest rates at the wholesale level.
The Fleecing of America... its how lobbiest and politicians roll when they can get the laws passed that favor the industry they want to control.
We've never been energy independent, and until we perfect a better source we won't be. Price of gas...you enjoy blaming Biden but the fact is it doesn't matter who is in the White House, the old man or the Orange Man, world events dictate it. As far as securing the border, I won't comment or this thread will disappear as well.

Yes we were. Our Fracking technologies made it so. So much so, it created a price war on oil. OPEC nations were willing to cut their prices low enough that when we got to about $40/barrel Fracking was no longer practical.
Then we had the Keystone Pipeline that was another boom for our energy independence. Shut down by guess who. Which cost us not only a better energy independence, it cost about 18,000 jobs.
Are the oil companies making fortunes? Sure they are. They always have been.
Fracking and the pipeline. Just great for the environment….

The idiots that fracked and caused problems got too close to sensitive hydrological areas. Just like the Beverly Hillbillies... don't make holes in the ground unless you know what is there.
The oldest oilfield of size in Texas... aka... the Permian Basin field is like new again in terms of oil production because of fracking.
The Bakken field in North Dakota and Montana died when the Saudis flooded the oil markets with cheap oil in 2012 and they did it intentionally. Oil went from the 90s to less than $30 a barrel... another supply chain flooding done intentionally because some special group of control freaks doesn't want this country to be oil dependent.
These are probably the same group that likes ME tensions so they can sell bombs, bullets, guns, planes, tanks and other military hardware that we the tax payer get to pay for.
Sorry to bust your bubble Red 05... America can be oil energy independent anytime the powers that be encourage it by dropping all the restrictions.
Oil will always be with us as a day to day necessity unless you can pave roads with electricity and build plastic products from something other than petroluem.
Alternative energy is great as long as it can keep up with demand and that is a long ways down the road from where we are right now as long as those in charge keep new technology suppressed.

The numbers don't support that statement. Regardless, long term, oil is not the answer. Maybe during our lifetimes but not beyond.
