Suzuki is
Waiting
for that .
Then a year later
They send out
Their GEN3 .
. . . Mark my words !
With a bike in the stable like that ZX14R, the Hayabusa is a poor cousin....the only saving grace for it is all the hard work Andrew did to it to make it somewhat viable. The bike looks great @ROADTOAD1340. I am so jealous, I think so the green color sprocket is all the money there !
It's always nice when you finish a project, to be able to start a new one!
Pure Raw power there, nice dyno chart, 199 horsepower with stock map, is a wonderful number, full of promises.
Enjoy your new project Andrew, and if you get bored with hayabusa, can you send it to Greece please? I will pay for shipping myself. Enjoy driving and experience, keep us updated..
I disagree with that @Yellow09. For me the Hayabusa is a great combination, it does everything very well, and if you make the right mods (wheels, remap, flash ecu, brakes, suspensions) it is one of the best choices out there. With a bike in the stable like that ZX14R, the Hayabusa is a poor cousin....the only saving grace for it is all the hard work Andrew did to it to make it somewhat viable.
Well sarge , we all know the Busa is a great bike , I love mine nearly too much , but I just think I got a ton of money locked up into just that one bike , I needed to spread the dough a bit . The 14R is of course my other favorite choice for build , and I am having a lot of fun with it so far , that's for sure .With a bike in the stable like that ZX14R, the Hayabusa is a poor cousin....the only saving grace for it is all the hard work Andrew did to it to make it somewhat viable.
I concur as I am a Hayabusa fan-boy as well and loyal to the brand....however, we must face the facts that the Hayabusa has been out-classed by the ZX14R and with a bike like this in the hands of a guy like Andrew, the sky is the limit.I disagree with that @Yellow09. A stock hayabusa owner, ride my own for several miles on a twisties road, and he told me that it was a completely different motorcycle from his own. I personally do not need anything better and stronger, I am completely satisfied.
The truth is , we each got our own rides , when you get geared up and mount that bike of yours , it is then the greatest motorcycle on earth , to you , and that is all that matters .
Thanks Andreas , hahahah , do you like that green emerald sprocket , it matches up to the 4 leaf clover rear rotor , a bit of an Irish slant to Kato there bro !!The bike looks great @ROADTOAD1340. I am so jealous, I think so the green color sprocket is all the money there !

Yes Arch , the Busa is legend , it has cemented itself in motorcycle folklore , as one of the alltime fastest and finest motorcycles ever in history , we all got every right to be damn proud .I sort of see the Hayabusa like an old bike. There are faster, newer bikes but climb on the Busa and you are in another era of motorcycling. The Kawasaki is in the current era as the undisputed champion. But the Busa will always own it's time.
Yesterday , I got the bike down to my local dyno , my mates actually , Superbike Performance of Adelaide . I took the bike to get a base line reading , well see what it has right now , with the generic Brocks map .
The bike has the 42t sprocket and the stock chain , and was a pretty nice day really .
Firstly , the Brocks map is okay , but was tuned for 87 octane , not what I wanted , the 93 octane , which is the same as our Aussie 98 octane ,(because the US calculate it up a bit differently ) . So there was a bit of a communication gap.... but it did hit 199.05 hp and touching 115 ftlb .
The bike shows promise for sure , I will get it tuned next year properly . This is the highest stock hp figure ever on this dyno , so pretty happy about that .

Well brother ,
those 2 old road warriors ,
are both at / nearing the end of the line . . .
Now I am REALLY happy
I own 2 pretty nice examples
of these historic machines . . .
Good to see you posting and checking in. You’ve been missed for sure.Hi all , been awhile between posts for me , been doing my own thing , busy messing with my moto's , still carer for my ol dear Ma and me dog .
Thought I would post a pic or two of what the bikes look like today , albeit , a few minor adjustments since the pics . Also , sorry about the quality , still got that cheap ass china spy phone ......
Just a revision of the ZX14R features , full Ohlins suspension , Bst wheels , custom swingarm , titanium fasteners throughout . Stripped of most things I could get away with , added a few carbon pieces , and carbon mirrors . Ohlins damper , Brembo masters and Braketech 330mm iron discs , Brembo GP4-RX calipers , ABS delete . Recently got re tuned through the ecu , made 204bhp and 117ftlb on the day , very nice to ride .
The L2 Busa is still running nicely , still lightening her where I can . She features changes to comfort and to enable really great tight road handling , basically where I ride mostly . The bars setup have been replaced with Gilles Vario bars , and are set much further back , but similar height to the original
Gen 2 stock . The bars are also pretty wide , it is now roughly the equivalent to a top triple and superbike fat bar setup . I also messed around with the rearset , more so with the gear shift position , and still am not totally happy with the rearset position . The stout screen adds to the less top end slanted ride , also the 47t rear sprocket .
The old brake setup , black GP4-RX (.484)set were sold to a mate , then replaced with nickle GP4-RX , so same as my ZED14 .... I run a carbon duct for each caliper , CNC Racing make them . Rear disc swapped back to a round Italian piece , and nickle 2 pot Brembo caliper . I had to replace the brake lines and get the switch block lines extended . Anyway , here are some pics .View attachment 1637349View attachment 1637349View attachment 1637350View attachment 1637352View attachment 1637353View attachment 1637354View attachment 1637355
Brother Toad, great to have you checking in again....it felt like old times to see your user name come up on a post....we were along for the ride when you were tinkering with both bikes getting them to where you wanted them....and we always had a good chuckle as to their "sleeping arrangements"....Obviously a lot been happening while gone , the Gen 3 is pretty exciting for sure , and that master machinist thread , building a supercharger kit (forgot your avatar , sorry bro ).... wild stuff for sure . A lot more to catch up on .
I been recently offered a lump for the Busa , AU 28K , with all my spares thrown in , but couldn't do it .The L2 has / is such a pleasure to own , ride and great fun to mod . The wad was tempting though , could of got the Gen 3 , or an ultra comfy Rocket 3 latest model ... I am happy , my modded L2 is a keeper .
Still got room inside for another bike though ....
