ROADTOAD's new ride

Got it fitted up today along with organic pads . Also weighed the Galfer at 890 grams , the stock ABS ring 93 grams , so saved over 540 grams , not a bad save off reciprocating mass . The disc + ring are made by BriLo Tech , there is a US distributor , Mr. S. Stars , who can be contacted on facebook , maybe also google search if you are interested .
The carbon pieces rolled up yesterday , and notification that the oem order will be here next Monday to Wednesday . Looking forward to getting it all fitted up .

How much does it run for disc and ring?

So @ROADTOAD1340 , tell us about the performance advantages of the ceramic rotor? Is it primarily weight and longevity? Also, do the ceramic rotors need a lot of heat to grip like the carbon ones? And finally, can this be done on the front where the reduction of that much unsprung weight will be very significant on handling?
Okay , the ceramic rotor works straight up , same as stainless from initial zero heat , and not sure of heat ranges etc. exactly , but is a streetable rotor . You must have organic pads , BriLo Tech supply a set with the order , but plenty of options out there , for my 84mm P2 Brembo . Yes , they make front rotors as well to order .
I hear wear rate is pretty good , I am sure the rear application in my case will be good . The reason I got this piece is solely for weight reduction , this is about the best light weight rotor for the Zed14 (ZX14R) out there , unlike the 1000's that run 220mm or less even rotors , that can access reduced weight race rotors , the hyper bikes cannot . @ZeePopo , they cost a chunk , I got mine directly from BriLo Tech , because AU have not got a distributor , directly through facebook , not through USA . US$725 rotor ring pads post , made to order .
It is a real nice piece , expensive yes , but worth it to my rotational reduction , BST wheel , Carbon Tech sprocket , Corse Dynamics titanium cush drive pins , Racebolt UK ti nuts and rotor bolts , ceramic bearings . A comparison of 540+grams saving rotor order alone , converted to $ in titanium , well the weight value gets a little better even .

Hows the braking performance? Has to be organic pads? No other options? What about pad options for track use?

I am pretty sure ceramic organic pads are the only type that are recommended , braking power is said to be outstanding , for fronts anyway . All the major supercar players are running ceramic rotors , because they work in most weather conditions .
Should get a ride in sometime this week , pissing down most of week by reports though , and swapping out bodywork from tomorrow , so we will see .

I have owned money Kawasaki motorcycles both triples ,kz 900 750 , and understand how you feel, congratulations on you new ride.I must say after
59 years of ridding My choice in order of what I enjoyed the most were 500 tripple kaw, 650 Yamaha sica tyrbo, kz 900/ with 1013 kit, ninja 750,1999 Busa
not mine but had for a week watching for a friend , and then my Hayabusa.
yes it’s all about the ride. Ps I also had a leverda 1000, bmw k100 rt,1937 Indian,
yamaha rd350 , Yamaha 650, yes and it’s all about the ride for sure !

That 14 is lookin sick as hell, mate. I'm so jealous, I can't stand it. I always thought the CF and ceramic rotors looked weird because of their color but that fits the CF you have on the bike very nicely. That is a lot of money for a 1 lb weight reduction but as you say, rotating mass. If you love this stuff, there's no point in counting dollars. Do all you can do!! My 2008 ZX-14 was so much different in feel after all the weight reduction mods I had done. It was a different bike from a stock Gen1.

All good @Mythos bro , you are a well known legend on the ZX14 and Ninja forum , always honest and respected , any compliment from you is taken in highest regard . Bro , we all know you will get your ZX14 back together when the time is right , and the Busa is right there already , then you wont have a care about other bikes , they are true specials to be proud of .
We all got different budgets and priorities , we all play the hand we are dealt . Truth is , I decided to stop worrying about what I spend on these two bikes , when I chose to keep them . Resale always sets limits , so I just enjoy building modifying them the way I like , as well as riding them . No insurance means I repair them and risk a worst case write off , so I try to ride to live , to play another day , as we do . Also when I'm asked , try to encourage others to also get what they like with motorcycles and special pieces , recommend quality / value over the cheap chit china crap where possible .

In the end, it's a hobby and you have to enjoy it....and if you have the financial means, the sky is the limit as there is just about anything and everything out there for these bikes...

I'm just glad to own one myself.

Managed to buff out all the major scratches except the two just about directly under the Brembo lever , both right on the top section sharp edges , and am just not going to worrie . Fitted up the carbon inner panels , and the new lower carbon fairing panels and tail pieces . The big oem bodywork order came in on Saturday , but I forgot a couple things for my new color tank , so keeping the 2013 SE panels & tank on till the next order comes in , which might be a few weeks . Nearly forgot to mention , my mates drag bike is in my bike room for awhile , I will be pulling the bodywork off and preparing it for a trip to a new paint shop a mate has opened . His stock motor is also off for a bit of HP therapy , so that will be good for the NT team Section 8 Racing once all done .

That's looking amazing! The combination of gloss black and CF is stunning. Impressive work mate!

Hi how are you will I hope. I have 3rd degree burns on my right hand, but doing OK. Many parts are in now the turbo weights 44 lbs to say it is very big. DNE has it now and is making my custom Inconal header. I have a new heat exchanger from RCC POWERHOUSE is helping too also Eric from DAS is doing the cold side and my MAXX Race H20
If anyone gets one that is the best for the money. I have the new Aeromotove X 1 fuel pressure regulator. I will have the RCC intercooler manifold soon. I just need the injectors 8 of them the NOS systems and the DEI set up to keep it all cool. I should be back on soon.
No Sarge , Kato staying there , holding the line , but surrounded by hostiles , but he has most HP for now ...lmao .

Hope your hand is going to be okay Mike , hell of a injury to your hand bro . The hardware for your build is certainly sounding on track , man that 44 lbs sounds heavy , until we factor in the minimum 800 BHP , and your next level chassis and component weight shaving . We are looking forward to your return bro .

What bike is to the left?
Hey Six , that is my mates drag bike , was a stock motor with Hayes clutch and side pipe , ran best 8.51 second 1/4 . Getting some motor work , paint while it is left here at my joint . Next year, sometime , it will be ready to go back 3,000km to home in NT , Northern Territory . Pic of what it looks like normally at the moment .
