ROADTOAD's new ride

Hahahah , well I still got them corralled together , despite being fierce street competitors , they sit well together .
Yes , the 14R is receiving some special attention , but the bike will still need a lot more subtle refinement and $ to truly match the L2 in this regard .
I did get the headers off last night , and got 4.33kg , for a total off 18.76 kg .
Looking forward to fitting the pipe , but up next , the oil and filter change .

Well the BST's finally arrived today for the 14R , very happy . I got the stealthed out black hubs and the rear is a monster 6.625" !! Going to get the tires fitted up next week sometime , talked to my tire tech , and we will be putting on RS10 's .
Here is a few pics of the set of BST beauties , along with the titanium bolts and nuts for the Vortex sprocket and the black sprocket carrier + 2 sets of cush drive bushes , the ti rotor bolts and Galfer rear , and the EK chain .

Did you change up from the stock gearing with the sprocket?

I still have that option , to change to shorter gearing , I think a 45t I got stashed will be great on it with my weight , but I am still thinking it over . I got till late next week to decide . If I do decide to use the standard size first , I will use this fresh chain , and get another replacement chain for the larger sprocket fitment ready .

Very nice except the Vortex junk ;) Renthal or anyone but them .
Pretty hard to find a Renthal quickly for BST pattern , I run a K Factory on my Busa BST and have the 45t from them also , ready if I change to shorter gearing on the 14R . Can't say I have ever had trouble when I did run Vortex on any of the Busa BST sets . A couple of things I do not like about them though , is the deep recesses for the sprocket nuts , makes a normal socket hard to reach in without fouling on the hole diameter . I fix this by having machined down aluminum washer to reduce the depth . Overall it is also a very thick / heavy design for billet sprocket , but it will do for now bro if I choose to run the stock gearing .

Their hard anodized coating is crap . Owner / President didnt like it when I produced my test notes of theirs vs Renthal hard anodized . He called me when I wrote a harsh e mail when they accidentally sent me a e mail of new management / owners 2 years ago .

Man.....the grass eater is well on its way to being a worthy stablemate. Can't wait to see the finished product! You have impeccable taste my friend.
Thank you Mr.Brown , I have well and truly blown this years and most of next years budget pretty quickly ... but I have most of the big $ items I had planned over with now . Obviously I haven't finished with my plans for it , I got other bits I still want , but it will be okay for now as is , with a still stocker look to it and with stock stuff still fitted up , to avoid the defecting law !!

I like how you're thinking!

I got to weighing the CT Meg full system including the mounting bracket and spigots , springs came in at 4.05kg , so the bike lost 14.71kg just from the pipe swap . The bike now has new oil and filter , and a new air filter , and the CT is all fitted up . The pipe has been wiped down ready for its first heat cycle , and now I got to get onto fitting the PC5 .
