running from \"the man\"

I know I said the other was the last, but got to ask you one more? What about the police version of the Chevy Suburban or Tohoe? Did they make it?

Yes. The frame rails are only about 36" wide. When Chevrolet first came out with the four door Tahoe, I thought that they were going to call it the Ho-ho. I still can't believe that they are trying to market a police vehicle that has the word "Ho" in the name. Years ago they tried marketing a vehicle in mexico known as the "Nova". I don't speak spanish (another story), but I am told that in spanish, "Nova" means "Won't go".

Now that brought a smile to my face..the HO part!! I did not know that Nova meant "wont go" I do know that the early 68/70 Nova SS 396 would go!! My first cousin had one and it would go!! His last name might be Fool also spent 3 tours in Nam...so he said...I know he was gone some where for a long time.

You guys have argued this topic for quite some time now and I've stayed out of it and both sides make valid points. I just feel compelled throw in my .02. I understand the points about getting some innocent bystander involved and possibly injured, but if some cops weren't so quick to pick on motorcyclists this may not happen anyway. Regardless of what you may tell everyone, bikers do get pulled over for no reason. I'm not gonna get hassled by "the man" simply because I'm on a bike. I've seen it happen. Sorry dude, but if it comes down to it, I'm gone and I really don't care what kind of car he's in, whether it be a Ford Escort or some Camaro on steroids that will make me look bad on my 'busa. Either way, I don't know what would happen, and neither do you. One other thing that bothers me, does anyone really believe that all that money coming from tickets doesn't benefit police departments? Get real

Yea I was pulling your leg about the Camaro. I do own a '95 z-28 it has the tour tires and speed limited too I think I heard someone say 112/118 mph. Funny thing about it though... it has a 150 mph speedo. I bought the car new and according to everone it should have a 120 mph speedo. The dealer could not tell me why the car was set up like it is. Fluke I guess. Actually I am sort of afraid of cars. They are so hard to stop!! It is my wifes car and I on occasion drive it. My daughter rebelled and drives a 98 Mustang. I myself drive an old 88 GMC 4x4 pickup with 110,000 miles on it. But I quarantee you I am a proud owner of a '00 Red/Gray Busa.
The Camaro I was speaking of is a real car built by Morgan-Mclure motorsports in Calif. the following is the info about the car. This guy must have a fortune in it!! If you want to see more of their work go to

Could this be one of the fastest naturally aspirated 350 LT1's around? It's definitely not the quickest. But why should it be. This car was never intended to drag race. It feels more at home on something with a few turns. To date all dragstrip testing has been performed with a complete Global West prepared suspension and Bridgestone RE-71 tires. There may be a lot to be said of its not so spectacular 60ft times (low 2.3's), but this car makes up for it with brute horsepower. Making around 450hp at the rear wheels from a 350 LT1 usually requires a supercharger or NOS, but Morgan Motorsports was determined to set a new standard. Surely one could only imagine what this engine could do in a properly prepared Camaro or Trans-Am. Are you the one?
Here are few details of this car:

355 CI 10.7:1
2 bolt main 350 LT1 block
Custom Morgan Motorsports rotating with GM steel crank.
Dynamically balanced and blueprinted
Morgan Motorsports Stage V Solid roller camshaft
Competition ported LT1 based heads
Ported LT1 intake manifold w/ 1000 CFM Throttle body
Hooker Super Comp 1 3/4" headers
Dual 3" exhaust w/ Borla XR-1 mufflers
36lb SVO injectors
DFI engine management
McCleod twin disc clutch assy
Strange 12 bolt rearend with 3.73's
Global West prepared suspension
13" front brakes with Alcon 4 piston calipers

Hey Kirk no offense man...it has been fun!!

My Hayabusa is not me. It is also not a certain part of my male anatomy. There is no shame in owning a slug. I am just as big a man when I drive my Suburban, and it is so slow that the track personel at PIR asked me to not bring it back again. I left off the middle amber and ripped off some 14.30s at over 46mph on the 1/8 mile. Pretty good race car, though. I pulled three launches out of my ascend that were all within three hundredths of a second of each other. Those were my only passes that night, and the only passes I've ever made in it. I'm guessing that it would be a solid 30 second 50mph car on the quarter.

Yea, I would say about 300 hp maybe a little more maybe 375 on a hot day!

Uh, Todd. It's called "overgeneralization". It's when you lump everyone in the same category, based on the examples of some.
Other opinions should be respected, but you seem to have a one-track negative mind concerning the topic of law-enforcement.
Your comment about the Orlando incident strikes me as insensitive. Humans make mistakes. I don't know that officer, but I'd bet he is feeling terribly bad. Other officers that have been in similar situations have not always dealt with it too well; some get out of the business, or need counseling for years.
I bet you don't have any applications in anywhere.
It's getting overboard with this stuff. Officers, having to deal with pitiful situations and forms of human existence day in and out, have to fight off the feeling that everyone is going bad. You should consider the same logic. Give it a rest, and let's all get back to enjoying talking bikes.

Awareness that there are some by cops that are straight up is what I hope for. It's left to the upstanding to take action and do the right thing instead of waiting until the FBI has to investigate or worse yet people are harmed. If I thought all cops were bad I wouldn't be wasting my time conveying the info I have.

After having personally experienced what a bad cop endowed with power is capable of I'm no longer willing to ignore the growing problem like some are. The personal testiments given by owners on this board further verify what many of us already knew.

I fear the situation will get worse before it gets better but I refuse to ignore a chance to convey my experiences to those who may be in a position to make a difference.

The first Busa owning cop on these boards (FC) thought it was all a big joke and made it a point to let us know how he and his cohorts were able to get away with anything they wanted by covering for eachother. I hope the others present here now feel differently.

OUR STATE'S FINEST:

Former Trooper of the Year charged with molestation

MIAMI, OK (AP) -- Ottawa County prosecutors charged a former Trooper of the Year on Monday with molesting two teen-age girls.

James Carl Pischel, 50, was charged with two counts of second-degree rape by instrumentation, two counts of lewd molestation and one count each of indecent exposure and sodomy. Pischel could face 10 to 20 years in prison on each count if convicted.

The 26-year veteran of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol denies the charges and will fight them vigorously, Gary James, Pischel's lawyer, said.

''I don't think Jim Pischel is the kind of person who would molest ... children,'' James said.

''We think there are things that precipitated these actions, some animosity between him and the children.''

Assistant District Attorney Fred DeMier said officials had been investigating the allegations for more than a year before the charges were filed.

''It was the young girls and being able to get corroborating evidence to support their allegation,'' DeMier said when asked why it took so long to file charges.

Pischel, of Wyandotte resident, voluntarily surrendered to authorities Monday morning. He posted $10,000 bail and was released pending an arraignment at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

''I just pray that it's not true,'' said Joe Taron, a Shawnee doctor on the board of Concerned Oklahomans for Highway Patrol Society.

The society named Pischel as one of four Trooper of the Year recipients for 1999. He was honored for his role in apprehending a Missouri man suspected of shooting his former girlfriend to death.

Pischel's career, however, has not been without controversy. He was suspended for three days in 1998 after an accident that occurred while he was test driving a car and traveling an estimated 100 mph on a two-way highway near Miami. He was on duty and in uniform.

In 1980, the state Public Safety Department tried to fire Pischel after he chased a fleeing motorcycle through a northeast Oklahoma County residential area at 90 mph and slammed into a car driven by then-Choctaw Police Chief John Whetsel.

Darlene Whetsel, 25, and 2-year-old daughter, Rebecca, were killed.

The Oklahoma Merit Protection Commission overturned his firing and gave him a 75-day suspension.

Pischel also was reprimanded for on-duty driving infractions in October 1974, October 1977 and March 1994, records show.

In the two rape-by-instrumentation counts, Pischel is accused of molesting a girl who is now 17. The crimes allegedly occurred in 1997 and 1998.

He also is accused of exposing himself to the girl in April or May 1998, of sodomizing her and of fondling her in 1998.

The second lewd molestation count involves another girl, who is 15.

Wow I didn't know that this thread was still going. I guess we all had bad experience with one or two BAD Cops. Like I said not all cops are bad, just the one's that don't get caught or turned in by their co-workers. Ride safe all.

wow, i started some crap. oh well, lol. anyway my point i was tryin to prove was i dont care if someone had a viper and chased me. When im talkin about gettin away from the cops im talkin about "IN THE CONGESTED CITY". yeah on a pretty open highway the viper could keep up. Not in the city where i can cut cars all day long and the viper cant do anything but turn his lights on and hope people get out of the way.thats my point. Helll, ive rode on the sidewalk before!!
