Russia and Ukraine

Russia is itching to get into the Ukraine and are starting to look hard for any excuse to invade...

It almost reminds me of the instance where someone is saying stop but this feeds a defiant attitude that works themselves to a fevered pitch. Almost like Chauvin sitting on Floyd was entrenched in some sort of odd trance to be defiant-he most likely knew he was doing something wrong but was too engrossed in his actions to stop and reset.

Russia is engrossed in their actions....I'm not sure if they will stop...threats of sanctions don't seem to be bothering them right now.

....or Putin might be playing chicken to see who blinks...

I think Putin is in a box. I don't think he expected the response he got from the west and now he feels like he can't just walk away with nothing. I think now he is testing the waters to see if we'll tolerate a smaller incursion or if he can get Ukraine to be the aggressor. Pulling back from Ukraine with nothing will be a serious political blow to Putin, maybe bigger than sanctions. This is a nail-biter.

They can get around sanctions. They always have.

They can sit on the borders and embargo anything Ukraine needs to survive. Nothing in, nothing out. Ratchet up sanctions on Putin, he puts more pain on Ukraine.
Access to Ukraine can come from Poland and Belarus so starving them out would be difficult.

NATO has already showed their hand.

I don't think they've shown their hand yet. Airlifting supplies sounds good in theory. Through what airspace do you propose they do this? They would need permission no?

By NATO showing their hand they have shown overt support for Ukraine and have already inserted arms and troops into Belarus and Poland...I would suspect those airspaces are open to them as well as the land borders with Ukraine...

It has become an "us" against "them" all over again reminiscent of the cold war days.

i found this info - it is right i think. Ukraine is a rich country in terms of minerals and rich farmland. Putin would like a puppet state like Belarus

Russia is 100% knowledgeable of all these points but I almost think it goes beyond this with Putin....

I would think with his background, the break up of the USSR was hard to take and any opportunity he can grab to get the old gang back together-he will take it.

It is in the west's best interest to not allow this but in the end, if Russia invades, nothing but western intervention and thus starting a potential global conflict will stop this from happening.

there wont be a global war thats not going to happen, the US don't have any responsibility or authority to fight Russia over Ukraine. Have the US not learned anything yet

at the moment i believe the West .... USA/UK/France will only use heavy sanctions.. Ukraine are not in NATO
why should Nato invade/support a non nato country

i'm pretty sure most Americans would not want US boots in Ukraine

Trump and white hat military about to destroy deepstate....deepstate trying to start a war,to distract us.

remember when Trump said "Storm is coming"....and media asked "what storm"?....Trump responded,"you'll find out"....well its about to start

I have to imagine that Putin has a love hate relationship at arms length with our so called "Deep State". The 24 / 7 / 365 attack on President Trump for 4 years didn't contribute anything worthwhile to policy decisions between Russia and the USA.

I can only imagine what was discussed behind closed doors between Putin and Trump that drove Pelosi and the democrats crazy at the time it was going on. I guess the deep state democrats couldn't get the meeting room tapped in time before the meetings took place.

...One would think wouldn't they?

I believe the west will stay out of Russia and China's sandboxes...there will be the insertion of weapons and tactics the same as the Russians inserted weapons and tactics in Syria and Iraq (covertly of course).

EDIT......I was erroneous in reporting NATO would have Belarus to use as a support bridge if need be...

Belarus is hosting Russian troops....it is Poland of whom NATO is bolstering support to.
