Single front rotor?

I've tried on several occasions to find those pics i saw of the broken single brake caliper mount and cant. I know it was on a busa board just dont know where or when i saw them. I didnt save them to my own computer either... starting to bother me that i cant find them.

70% of the technical based discussions on forums are based on heresay..or I read it here...or so and so said this. There are plenty of so and so people with their own agenda. What do you have to say about a guy with both calipers and rotors and they both go out?Choose what makes you feel safe and you can ride with to make sure others aren't hurt cause of your decision...I have ran single rotors on the street and track for years with no failures and have watched others have issues,it's life..Use it and you stand the chance of failure,otherwise leave it parked.

I've seen pics of what happens when the caliper mount fails after prolonged use of just one rotor and caliper... isnt pretty!  The bike is heavy, designed with two rotors... if your riding alot on the street, it needs two rotors IMO...

let's see the pics....might be the excuse used for the wreck but the reality I find to be well...hard to believe.

I was responding to whoever said "Stupid hurts".
What's stupid is to give advice on hearsay.
If you DON'T know what you are talking about, WHY not just give YOUR opinion without calling others, stupid?

I understand that people "think" some things should work, or what theory says, but I don't guess when trying to give tech help, or advice.
If "I" haven't EXPERIENCED it, I don't go around calling people stupid for doing it. I would just say that "I" wouldn't do it.

I, and others have done it for years and have never had a problem.

If you are a serious rider out tearing it up alone in the canyons and the like, it's a ridiculous premise.

But if you want to pose and slowly cruise up and down the boulevard, smilin' wid yur gold teef, etc....then, whatever....

Wrong. I've ridden with Roc and seen him carve some roads. He's made a choice that many of us, including me, disagree with but don't stereotype him with a comment like that. That statement is the same as someone calling you stupid because you ride a motorcycle. Less protection than a car, yada-yada. Think about it and get back with us.....

Just for the record I've ride'n the dragon with the same single rotor. Is that canyon enough? If it's not your thing then it's not your thing. that doesn't make us any less of a rider. 22K on an 06 isn't slowly cruise'n up the Blvd

I'm not trying to get 1 person to change their mind, but because we use 1 rotor, we are stupid?
The thing that amazes me is, what qualifies the person to call us stupid when they, themselves, have NEVER tried it?
