Actually "Black Bike Week " started out as the Atlantic Bike Week Festival. Most of the time black people stayed in Atlantic Beach and had a bike week. Over a period of time the event started getting larger and spread over the whole Myrtle Beach area. The local people saw all of the black people and labeled it as Black Bike Week.
I personally have been to several of these events and have had NO problems what-so-ever and yes, I am white. I ride with everyone (as long as they act like they have some sense). I see alot of my friends there..white..black..mexican..you name it!!
The only problem I have is my bike over heating and having to push it LOL!! I will ride black girls, white girls or whomever else wants to ride. It is all in fun!!!
The locals have a problem because of all of the lane splitting and people just stopping in the middle of the road to talk. This year I didnt notice any businesses closing during the week which was good.
My problem with this whole "Race" shid is with the NAACP and organizations like that. Why must we use temrs like "African Americans, or Spanish Americans"? WE ARE ALL AMERICANS!!! Until people can get over this type of crap, we will always have issues.
Fugg the "niggers,whiteys,wet-backs" and all of the other terms!! WE ARE ALL AMERICANS AND BIKERS!! Let's all just have fun and unite as brotherhood and have a safe and enjoyable ride in life!!!
just my opinion!!
