So, our experience with the '08 lasted 2.2 seconds

Yes, definitely good to hear he is going to be O.K....

My tires were pretty slick for a good 45-50 miles. It seems like it took these tires a lot longer to wear in than previous tires.. Anyway, I will let you know as soon as I have the stock exhaust off and ready to ship out in case you still need it..

Take Care...

We are a-okay Rev...thanks for the kind words and I can't tell you how glad I am that I don't ride others' bikes

We'll get it fixed...I'll know more about the '08 than I'd ever expected since I'll be pulling it apart to fix it...don't even own one, but I'll become an expert soon

So sorry to hear this, maybe he was riding his HD too long. Glad he's OK. As far as parts, the bar ends look totally different, more curved and longer, but that doesn't mean an OE set wouldn't fit. I have a pair of chrome ones you can have if you'd like.

Hope he is alright! Hope the relationship isn't too awkward going forward as well. That would be unimaginably tough!

Ping Kevin about the fairings.

Are you SURE the stator cover is different?

The mirrors looked the same to me when I was looking at one yesterday.

Robert @ roaringtoyz should have a can off of the one they were working on.

Hope Mike is doing ok.....

Geez, Michelle--thank God he's ok; it's sad when that happens on a new bike for sure (especially when it's someone else's bike), but at least the bike parts can be fixed and replaced. I'm not sure about whether the parts from a Gen 1 will fit, but if he needs some financial help, I'll certainly pitch in for some new parts. Please let me know.

Wow... sorry to hear about the bike, but glad he'll recover just fine. Not familiar at all with the parts for an '08, can't help there... Looks very repairable though.

Glad he was wearing gear - road rash is harsh (from experience) and the helmet did it's job. I still have mine (I think) from my first serious crash, all scratches and everything...

'Chelle, I'm damn glad to hear your man is going to be okay. This is exactly why I don't ride other people's bikes and I don't let them ride mine. There have been some RARE occasions but it's a rule. Statistically, there are higher incidents of people wrecking on borrowed bikes or new bikes. Mike got nailed by a double whammy. Dang!

Getting parts from Japan on a newly released bike may be tough. If I see anything out there, I'll let you know.

Take care of your big guy for us. I'm sure he'll be fine, even his bruised ego.

Well, as it would just have happened, I high sided the right side of my 08 Busa a few days ago and have the left pipe and clutch lever (bar) that you are looking for as I am upgrading. I also have a good left side mirror as well. Be glad he didn't break the upper triple tree as well, original is very hard to find.
Yes, in my situation, it was driver error, cold tires, light sand gravel, pulling out left into a 55 zone, ass end shot around like a rocket and threw me straight down. I just started riding (34 years ago), still learning to respect the Busa. Thank God for leathers and a full face or I would be jawless today.....email me for parts info
mine is running 4k in repairs

So sorry to hear it, 'Chelle! Glad Mike will be okay. Like others have said, the bar ends look different but an older set may fit. The mirror is identical from what I can see. Are you sure the stator is different?

sorry to hear this, at least he will be ok
i have a stock 06 clutch lever if you need it.
maybe i can dig you up a mirror i will have to look for one thats not blemished.

Glad you're okay too, Chef.

Isn't there a low power switch on there to use?
